8 times seems abit dramatic and surprised group stayed togather for that many wipes but that specific fight is a @#%$!@$#! now.

just a week ago you could go in 2 people (healer DPS) and simply spank the mob down with out incident. Now Ive seen full groups of 4 with gear struggle and even wipe at times.

EA says they only raised the HPs on mob but I call horsepucky. The elements in that fight across the board are harder now. Even on storymode you HAVE TO use the debuff posts when they initiate.

Most people I've seen were NOT taught to use them in that fight so still try to tank and spank.

I wouldn't be to quick to call down players for wiping right now in the habitat zones (specifically the desert one).

I consider Czerka meltdown to now be a 4 man tactical rather then the advertised 2 man for storymode.

I've seen players on planets over their level a few times and wondered why are they here? They can't possibly harm any mob here, definitely not one with a single 'strong' npc in it. Thanks, now I know.

I can almost understand a new player rushing to get their ship. When the game first launched I was the same way. I did all of the missions but I wiped a lot because I didn't quite understand the gear and how stats work. But it didn't take me too long to see that I had borked my character up a bit by rushing through things and not learning things.

I met a player once that must have rushed through things because his gear was way too low and so was he for Alderaan. Luckily he was receptive to advice and a week later he had actually joined the same guild I was in! So now he's got pretty good gear and he's pretty good in a group. I've teamed up with him from time to time myself. (hilariously on different alts.....I don't think he realizes that the jedi, the smuggler and the trooper he's been teamed with are all me).

Maybe I should ask him for a handout. At least he knows my characters. When I see people on the fleet asking for handouts in gen chat I just chuckle. I'm sure it works or they wouldn't do it, though. To me its like when a random person asks me for money on the street....annoying.

If you can't solo non group missions, you suck. Don't ask for help. Figure out how to play better, or uninstall the game.

They tend to get mad when you try to explain that If you just zerg through the bare minimum of content as you can to try to get elsewhere you will usually fail, spectacularly so. As well as fail to learn anything pertinant and useful about your class, abilities, and general gameplay itself

I hear a lot complain they just want to get to endgame and get the good gear. But if your a 55 in 40-50 greens (we won't even go into the STR users using Cunning/Aim/et cetera instead of STR) You can't really complain when no one wants to group with you to do said endgame content because you will just be a detriment.
As I said earlier, I was horrible at launch. I wasn't one of those guys that begged for help, but I had crap gear because I didn't bother to read the descriptions. It didn't take me too long to figure out that I was doing it wrong though.

I don't get it when people want to rush rush rush and not do all of the missions on the first few planets though. You can easily get them done as the missions seem to be in one area and progress to the next just like the class missions.

I had someone say that once to me. I only wish they could see me laughing at the monitor. I told them "Since when am I responsible for your entertainment? Because boy are you in for a disappointment."

That's what started this thread for me. Someone asking me to help them plow throw the content so they could level fast. ....on Korriban....Korriban for the luvva mike! Its so easy to burn through Korriban its ridiculous. I've done it in a half a day doing all of the missions without really rushing at all....solo. If I had teamed with a few other starting players we'd have been on Dromund Kaas in record time.

That's the mindset of players I hate to group with just doing regular missions. They run from objective to objective at top speed in a mission, to the point where you're not enjoying the mission you're just there to make sure they don't get wiped. They don't bother to communicate with you once you're in the mission and seldom stop long enough for you to even heal yourself.

*Addendum : My personal favorite is when you are on a planet and you get a tell that just says "Help". Er excuse me? Help what? (Extra points when they are on a completely -different- planet then you are)
I'll help a person out on a mission or with a tough mob or enemy if they ask. I won't do it to powerlevel a person though. It was worse in City of Heroes when it was active. I actually did have to block invites and put a lot of players on ignore once I hit max level. As I understood it as long as you were in a group with a max level character the low levels would get loads of xp even if the max level wasn't there. It was something like that, as someone told me once to join their team so they could power level. They told me I didn't have to do anything just stand by the mission door. I didn't do it, but I did ask this random person "why the heck would I do that? I mean, don't you think I have better things to do? Do you imagine I logged in just to stand somewhere so you could play?". As expected they got upset and began cussin' at me, but I ignored them after that.

I never did understand why someone would contact a player on a different planet. If you don't know me why do you think I'll stop what I'm doing, go all the way back to my ship, travel to wherever you are, get off of my ship and then go look for you to help you do something that is most likely 10 to 20 levels under me? huh?

Tell them, no.

If they ask why; tell them that it builds character.... literally and figuratively.

When I first started playing, I was a commando and I couldn't find a single person to help. I was lost and confused and dead broke.

I then switched to the Imperial side and there were high level guys helping people run the starter area heroics, another guy was taking people on trips to get the datacrons. I even had guys run by and lay down awesome buffs. Another time some dude was having RP events and handing out credits.

I had no idea how nice the Sith were to their own kind, and I really felt welcomed. I have since levelled 2 chars to 50 and before I took a break a year ago I used to throw out buffs, or offer item drops to new players. It was a great way to spread the cheer and make the game more enjoyable.

The End.
What are non group missions , I haven't seen any in this MMORPG called SWTOR that I play ? If you mean class quests then fair enough , but even those aren't non group missions. I believe your attitude sucks TBH.
This is an MMO and if people like you continue to play MMO's then god help us all. Go try a so called non group mission ( class quest ) with three people in it , you will be very surprised , that indeed they aren't solo quests at all and much harder in a group of three plus.

Cheers,

BadOrb.

I still ask for help myself. Most times I'll get 'use your heroics'. Though, with having as many 55s as I do, and playing every single day, I DO know where I'm going wrong. But I never ask for help with something until I've read it, tried all the things they recommend, have decent gear, and STILL get buttstomped.

Only time I ever asked for help with a quest, was waaaaaaaaay back in the day when I would make it all solo to my class' end boss, try to kill them and then die and die and die and die. I had a few people help me, but I never demanded they did. They either did and I went back to finish leveling, or they didn't and I went back to get better gear or more levels.

And I only help people if they're doing class quests, since I love going back and seeing their decisions, but I won't help for anything else, especially not money. I earned my nickels, you can too.

When I have the time I do enjoy helping people, (must have helped kill the Archon 15-20 times back when I roamed Makeb), but now with so many alts and trying to gear them up I really don't have the time. Nowadays I refer people to dulfy.net and if they really want to get better (endgame) they'll do some studying.
