There is no feature in swtor that is more important to me than the ability to not participate in double xp events when I log in.
1) If 2XP makes your roleplaying impossible, then that sounds more like you lack imagination than anything.
2) If you think *anything* about building an MMO is easy then you clearly have no understanding of how they work.
3) There's about a dozen people who want it. They make a lot of noise, but they constitute an insignificant minority.
4) If the very most you want out of this game is to not get bonus XP, refer to point #1.

Speaking as one of the aforementioned "bads" I love war zones during 2XP because they give a ton of XP for a few minutes of my time then put me right back where I was.
Except Huttball because #*€% Huttball.
Fortunately, GSF serves the same function and I prefer doing that instead.
Too bad I suck at it also.

I don't understand why there is so much resistance to something that would be optional. All EAware has to do is add a setting in preferences that allows people to opt-in to double xp. An aborted foetus could do it.

This is not constructive at all.

1) absolutely no respect for any request to opt out of double xp. You do not have to understand, but you can at least respect it instead of attacking it because you don't understand.
2) I didn't know you had so much experience in mmo design. I've designed a few games for my own pleasure. Please enlighten me as to how incredibly hard it is to design any and every aspect of a mmo.
3) Please show me these numbers that you speak of.
4) The only thing I have against swtor is that I can't get away from double xp if I want to play during a double xp event.

Play your main and stop whining on the forums.
Not constructive either.

Credibility = gone. If it were simple, it would probably already be done.

Or if, like, more than 7 people wanted it. Not surprisingly, 2xp timeframes always seem to see a huge spike in logged in players, don't they?

That there isn't a significant majority who asks for an opt-out option doesn't automatically mean the majority actually wants or even likes Double XP. Some of us simply don't care and play our 55s, or, If we really planned to level an alt at that time, let our subscription lapse to get that nifty -25% XP "bonus" that is given exclusively to F2P players.

Power-leveling via KDY okay, but I don't really see the point of double XP for a char you actually want to play the story with, you are overpowered on the beginner planets get no XP on 1 or 2 planets thereafter, and stop getting XP close to the end of all following planets, unless you skip most side quests and bonus series.

So Bioware and parts of the playerbase consider the ability to skip parts of the story a gift? In the showpiece of story-based MMOs? From the company that once single-handedly revived story-based CRPGs?

Well, that's fine I guess, but how about giving that gift only to those who can appreciate it?

Actually I think this is the first time people have asked for it in the forums, all thbey have do do is add a new checkbox. And just because you say credibility = gone it doesn't mean that crddibility == gone is true.
