For me, Wildstar's combat looks interesting, but I'm not very good with a mouse. However, the cartoon style and humor, along with the lack of Voice over and the unoriginal story is something I don't like. Also, Humans are limited to one faction, which is something I'm not a fan of.

In Wildstar, both factions have humans. They are just called Cassians on the Dominion side.

As for Wildstar, I've been in the beta. Combat is fun, and I love the Jak and Daxter art style. I also love the humor prevalent throughout the game. However, I'm really lacking any sort of lore or immersion in the game. It reminds me so much of WoW. Go to hub, click accept, go murder things, return. I forgot who I was doing what for, but it never felt like it mattered anyway why someone needed 10 bear asses.

I've got a preorder at Gamestop, but I'm not sure if I'll keep it just yet. I assume level cap will be fun, but leveling in that game is going to be a chore without lore or immersion.

They have an interesting new concept with CC. When you get stunned, you need to hammer the E key to breakout. This is a great idea, but instantly ruined by having the game on PC. There will be mods that hammer it for you or a macro that does it. So, this feature will most likely end up getting removed shortly after launch. Its things like that which make me worry about how fun the combat will remain. Also...8 action bar slots...bleh.

Both games can exist just fine. I won't cancel my TOR sub for Wildstar, but I might end up playing both at some point during the summer console game lull.

I already posted once in the thread. I don't need to post it multiple times.

People say this alot, but honestly the game's art, animation, setting, humorm etc, have WAY more in common with Ratchet & Clank than WoW.

The people that say it looks like WoW either don't play many games or think any cartoony MMO = WoW or that any and all cartoonish styles are exactly the same.

After jumping into Wildstar for the first time this past weekend, I can also confirm that SWTOR has nothing to worry about... to a certain extent.

Wildstar gets a lot right with its fun combat, interesting combos for class abilities made possible by the LA, Fun PVP (with ranked/cross servers/warplots/arenas in from launch), and a brutal endgame raid scene.

However I, like many others, have been ruined by SWTOR's excellent leveling content paced by the fantastic VO work. Wildstar's chat box based story, while often inducing LOL moments is quite lackluster in comparison. This will be the biggest turn off for people who try out Wildstar and it makes getting invested into the game's early moments a difficult task.

At the end of the day, I think Wildstar will appeal to a different type of crowd. Those looking for a game that supports PVP right off the bat, with a brutal endgame raiding scene (the craziness of 40-mans, attunements, 42 weeks of daily grinding to get those extra amp points etc) and an excellent housing mini-game will find that Wildstar is the game for them.

Those looking for a more casual PVE/Raid scene, a highly popular IP setting to RP with, and more "realistic" setting (in comparison to the cartoony feel of Wildstar) will find SWTOR to be the place to be.

I myself plan to keep subs up for both games for the foreseeable future, but will likely make Wildstar my main game (in pursuit of all the glory of raiding tough end game content). I'll always love SWTOR (been here since launch) but after clearing all the current PVE content, doing all 8 class stories, and defending nodes with my Sin till my eyes bled, I'm ready to move on to another game to scratch my MMO itch.
Human beings in a mob. What's a mob to a king?
What's a king to a God? What's a God to a non-believer, who doesn't believe in anything?

You raise very valid points, well done. I agree with this.

Not getting all the ESO hate, it's really quite good actually, reminiscent of both TES games in gameplay and Dark Age of Camelot in PVP mechanics and tone. But perhaps the fantasy setting will prevent it from competing too directly with the sci-fi SWTOR.
ESO just plain sucks!!. the combat is that of a FPS or even worse SWG:NGE then you have have the over the shoulder view just like the NGE. yea the graphics are good but they should be seeing as how its a new game, heck Wildstar has really good graphics as well. i found the story telling in ESO slow and boring as heck. and the voice acting was worse the the really bad TOR voice acting.

Wildstar has a lot of good things going for it.. its combat is quite good and flows really well. its story/lor is fun and enjoyable. its wide open and you can explore, the hosing is awesome and you can get all kinds of buffs from it. now i don't know anything about the PVP part though kuz im not much of a PVPer any more. to me Wldstar has a lot of the good parts from vanilla WOW and from SWG, THAT is why i am really excited about wildstar. i cant hardly wait to jump into game with my kangaroorat and explore and shoot stuff up!!!

Besides, MMO * RPG unison is not called that just for kicks.

SWTOR is probably the ONLY real MMORPG, while all others are just... MMOs. To me.

Voiceover and characters with Bioware flair and soul made this game into a TRUE mmoRPG.

The prev. called MMORPG games are just MMOs to me now.

To me, WoW and TSW and GW2 AND League is in same genre.
thats kinda funny kuz i think of TOR as being an OLRPG... now a true MMORPG would be SWG. THAT was a true MMORPG.
