And which group of people are they favouring?
Considering that actual armour on the CM still considerably outnumbers the amount of skimpy gear and considering the fact that skimpy gear seems somewhat evenly distributed between in game genders I really don't see Bioware favouring anyone... if anything I can only applaud them for not going with the stereotypical approach of skimpy gear for females and actual armour for males.

You know what - I had looked at some of the pics in that thread, but not read many of the posts, and had assumed that the creator was a woman. (There I go stereotyping)

Definitely knew that several posters were women though.

A certain incident occured to me on these forums that I have to beat around the bush about because I really don't want another "incident" occuring again.

To clarify Bioware, I am NOT trolling with this post. I am instead DISAGREEING (I just double checked the your own ToS on the topic of disagreement; nothing against disagreements) with your current content that is being released through cartel packs. I am also not calling any one out or attacking their sexual orientation or gender in this post, other than to point out that that may have been the influencing factor upon which certain development ideas were created upon..

Also this post was made as a vent and shall be the last time I shall ever speak on the matter of half-naked shirts for fear of my account status. Infer what you will from that.
I'm really not sure how releasing a series of revealing sets that are usable on either sex constitutes favoritism to any one group.

Is the series of cyborg sets showing favoritism to transhumanists?
Is the series of Aleraanian Loyalist and Statesmen sets showing favoritism to aristocrats?
Is the series of Huttball Uniform sets showing favoritism to sports fans?

BW/EA frequently picks a theme and runs with it for several packs, then moves on to the next after they've put out a number of variations on that theme, and a lot of these themes have been specifically requested by players.

At no point has any of these themes completely crowded out other armors in the packs they've appeared in.
We've gotten also gotten a steady supply throughout of one-off or two-off armors with looks of Troopers, Sith, Scouts, Jedi, Formalwear, Lore sets, etc. etc. etc.

So just dress your characters as you like and don't worry about what other people are doing. Why should anyone else's opinion on the topic matter to me?

On the subject of skimpy gear in battle... think about it: it doesn't matter. Storm troopers wear armor and go down in one shot from a blaster. We're talking about lasers and lightsabers and bombs here. How much good is that armor going to do? Rather be comfortable for combat, whatever that may be.

And further... we're discussing a game in which you get killed and immediately stand up and run back into battle. I wouldn't worry too much about the "authenticity" of armor in this case.

These are certainly offensive. Everyone knows that females' sports uniforms are supposed to be skimpier than males'. I mean, certainly you've seen beach volleyball and the lingerie football league, right?

But NSFW is irrelevant in this context, isn't it? It's not work. It's a game. It's only a problem if it's unsuitable for the game rating that the game has, which is, what? Teen or Mature? I forget.

Ah, there it is. ESRB Teen. Which means Blood & Gore, Mild Language, Sexual Themes, and Violence. We 'Muricans are an odd lot, aren't we? We can go on a murder spree just fine at the same level as we have to make sure them lady-parts are covered properly!
Yeah I guess NSFW was the wrong phrase to use, but you know what I meant. On the sears site that fine in context, again I don't have a problem with the skimpy sets themselves, it's just in the context of the game they are immersion breaking. I don't mind "sexual themes" but, to me, it feels cheap when it's so blatant and overdone. It's probably why I don't enjoy playing games like Mortal Kombat where all the female characters are over sexualised. Or when you're watching a show on HBO and they throw nudity in every other scene just because they can. (Not sure if they're the right analogies to make)

I'm not saying it's "overdone" in the game, but there are a few skimpy gear sets now and a lot of people use them on the server I play on, much so to the point where I get annoyed by it. Like I'm in an ops group with 6 characters who are all in relaxed vestment/slave girl/etc outfits... it just ruins the immersion in the game for me.

Storm troopers died from blaster bolts from Han's blaster, which is heavily modified to piece even the thickest personal armor plating. That doesn't count.

but luke used a stormtroopers blaster and did the same thing sooooo....

and the only armor that should repel blaster bolts and light sabers are Mandelorian beskar'gam made out of mandalorian beskar iron which is kinda rare. or at least that's the only one i have heard of B^P

I love skimpy outfits when done well.

But a lot of the more recent skimpy outfits are sloppy modifications of previous armors.

This is not a comment regarding skimpy or non skimpy

What they need to do is stop doing the cut and paste of outfits for the packs. They need to create original outfits for each pack not take something and modify it.

Have a good day.
