According to the in-game help center:

"However, please be aware that if you have chosen to take the Diplomacy Crew Skill, you will be able to restore any lost alignment points by sending companions on Diplomacy missions."

So you've got to drop a skill to fix it? I'm at 9950/10000 and I've done light side things many times and it won't cap out. Apparently I need to swap crew skills. Ridiculous.

The cap is stupid, but u can grind dark/light points. There is never a point in the game you are stuck forever at dark/light IV.

Confirmed: if you're stuck you can get Diplomacy and you'll be able to gain points again.

I had to drop Treasure Hunting and pick up Diplomacy and do missions to get the last 50 points.

This may indeed be a bug despite what the in-game help says. However if you have this problem this does work.

Does the dark/light choices in repeatable Flash Points not affect your alignment?

Some consider me a dark Jedi whilst to others a mercenary.
Yet I am no slave to a code nor to an ideal. My will is forever free."

OP - please update your post to not further spread misinformation.

You will always be able to go from full darkside to full lightside and vice versa!

You do not need diplomacy either - just run the first section of normal bt or any other fp for alignment gain in either direction.

I actually disagree.

I just hit Dark V yesterday with my level 35 Sith, and I enjoyed all the "evil" things I did to get there, it was actually pretty fun to watch.

I think they did a pretty good job with it.

For the whole 10k cap thing- it's not true. If you pick up diplomacy, or spam a low level, very chatty instance, you can easily change your alignment back and forth. I know this, because I did choose a couple light side options on my way to Dark V. Diplomacy and a couple Black Talon runs fixed it.

Edit: Oh there IS one bug- hard modes don't give alignment points. Run normal mode isntances to farm alignment.

Would be awesome if they gave items to people who followed true balance in the fore,, the natural alignment ....

People stop freaking out, there is no issue here. Good lord i swear it is like a panic train, get off the train folks.

My agent capped at lvl 50 with 10,000 total points I had 9900 in LS and 100 from a single DS option I took while leveling, I wanted the LS speeder so I did a single run of black talon took the LS choices FINISHED the run and poof it erased my DS points.

Again there is no problem here you can once you hit the cap erase points from one side or the other.

Remember you must finish the instance and quest for the ls/ds points to take effect.

Again get of the panic train and calm down this is a non issue.

I'm totally lost as to the problem.

I made 1 light side decision on my inquisitor and was sitting at 100 light side/9900 dark side. My next dark side decision I made pushed the 100 light side off and I was able to hit Dark V just fine.

In fact I've bounced between dark IV and dark V a few times just to check out some of the different reactions/dialog options.

I'd say the biggest issues are:

1. You really do have to push to the extremes to use level 50 relics. My bounty hunter and agent I'd prefer to keep between light II and dark II (primarily as a cosmetic since the "show corruption" option flags on arbitrarily)

2. Some classes don't get enough options. Sith Inquisitors you almost feel like you have to take every option presented in the same direction or you won't get past the first rank. In contrast, the bounty hunter has ample opportunities to make these choices.
