That said, I can't see myself ever using the dark V gear, if you make one light choice you're SOL until you find some more dark points, which basically forces you to make dark choices for the rest of the game, which may make your companions hate you, or make your story arc in a way you didn't really want.

Dark V (same for light, obviously) should start at -9500, so that when you're capped you can still make decisions, and would make the dark V gear/speeder a lot more viable, since one choice wouldn't render them useless.

Don't worry about story arcs not working the way you like.

Option A) Kill them - At the end of the quest they disappear because dead
Option B) let them live - At the end of the quest they disappear, perhaps an email.

Neither options really change anything, it's an illusion of choice.

Did a quick run of Esseles, two prompts for LS points. one for 150, one for 100. I didn't get credit for either.

Started and ended with 10000 LS, 150 DS

I'm forever stuck at -9450. Even though I've done HM BT now 3 days in a row... what gives?

I wonder if it's just a bug or actually intended.
This isn't even true. When you are at 10,000 points for one side, gaining further points starts removing any opposing points you may have gained.

When I first started out, I had no idea of the alignment note you can add to the conversation. I never used the mouse, so that setting didn't do me any good either. By the time I did find out about it and had turned it on, I was somewhere in the ballpark of 3k DS and 200 LS. Well, I've consistently chosen dark side obviously to rush my character down. By the time I hit 50 I was in the ballpark of mid 8k DS and still 200 LS from the beginning. using Diplomacy I was able to get it down to 10k DS in which case wiped my LS to 0 and set me at an even -10,000 dark side and a loathsome title.

Diplomacy seems to work, I've rushed another character to DS V this way.

You want a cup of jawa juice?

That isn't true... lol I'm the true example of it. I was dark 5 and then I made one light side mistake and i am forever at -9900 instead of -10000 where I was. Once you have the points, you're forever doomed. Or at least until Bioware makes it how it should be and they counteract.

I dont get it, some saying if you get more points when you are 10k it just removes from LS

so how are people stuck with LS points if they can just counteract them with capped DS?

Or is it that you have no quests/ways to get them,

I am still very low level but I do have 400 LS, 1000 DS because I figured the developers would be smart and not punish me for this when I wasnt told of the consequence, the game no where told me at the begining if i choose 1 LS option then i will not be able to gain certain gear.

There are always quests because of flashpoints and heroics are dailies with those decisions. I think the people that were having their points reversed were receiving a bug in the system. Or it could be the other way around. Regardless Bioware needs to take a look at it. I mean obviously we all want to be able to be full light or full dark even if we make the opposite decisions. Hopefully, they head our call and allow the dark and light side points to counter act once you reach 10000 of either.

ok so my question is once i get to dark side V, and I get all the titles and buy all the cosmetic items from the dark side vendor, can I then go heavy into light side, to the point at which im either neutral, or light side V and then purchase all of the neutral items/gear they are going to make and or the light side items/gear?

my other question is will I be able to retain my previous dark side titles for my character? and will i still be able to use the dark side items i already purchased such as the speeder or the interrogation droid? If i make it back up to neutral alignment or even light side alignment?

Are the people who are not having the points subtracted ie +9900 / -100 only using HM FPs as their only basis? I was under the impression that was borked, but the normal mode and diplomacy still did it.
