DISCLAIMER: This thread represents comprehensive analysis of command of the Force and power progression of Sith Emperor on the basis of existing canon information and also addresses some misconceptions concerning his capabilities and feats in the process. Possibility of an error of judgment on my part in this analysis is unintended and such a matter can be discussed in this thread in gentlemen fashion. And this is NOT a versus topic like Sidious versus (enter name here). Thank you for reading.

From my earlier discussions, I came to know that command of the Force of an individual (Force-user) is determined by proficiency in following spectrums of Force manipulation & utilization:-

  1. Control
  2. Sense
  3. Alter

I did some investigation of my own to verify the aforementioned revelation and found this to be true. This analysis explores capabilities of Sith Emperor in all of these spectrums in great detail.

"As Jedi initiates, you will learn and hone many abilities that draw upon the Force. These abilities follow three themes: Control, Sense and Alter. Control is centered on one's own body and is the focus of training for initiates. If you cannot remain in control of yourself, you will never be able to extend the Force and command your surrounding environment. Sense and Alter abilities will be the focus of your training later, when you are more skilled." (Jedi Seer Sabla-Mandibu)

--- --- --- ---

ANALYSIS:

NOTE: Major spoilers involved from canon sources.

The dark side had radiated from him in palpable waves, his physical shell barely able to contain the crackling energy. (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan)

Quick facts:-

Original Name: Tenebrae
Sith name: Lord Vitiate; Darth Vitiate
Father: Lord Dramath
Rank: Sith Emperor
Apprentices trained: Exal Kressh
Sith Masters: None

Spoiler

Control:

"Control is internal. It is the Jedi's ability to recognize the Force in himself and to use it to his benefit." (Jedi Master Bodo Baas)

"The abilities that fall under the discipline of Control are basic skills, but improvement on these skills is necessary for the remainder of your life. Used properly, your Control abilities will allow you to survive injury and decay, extending your service to the Order by decades." (Jedi Seer Sabla-Mandibu)

1. Tutaminis

"Tutaminis, or energy absorption, is the ability to channel or diffuse potentially harmful radiation by using the benevolent energy of the Force. It can be as simple as shielding the skin from excessive sunlight or as advanced as deflecting a blaster bolt with outstretched palm - something that even I have not mastered." (Jedi Seer Sabla-Mandibu)

In addition:

Quote:
From Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion:

This power allows the Jedi to absorb or dissipate energy, including light, heat, radiation and blaster bolts. A successful control roll means that the energy has been dissipated. If the user fails to roll, he takes full damage from the energy.
Tutaminis represents defensive aspects of the Force with which a Force-user can protect oneself from various external threats via absorbing or shielding techniques.

Not surprisingly, Emperor Vitiate was proficient in the matters of defending himself from external threats including harmful energies:

Spoiler

Emperor Vitiate cocooned himself in the Force to prevent harmful heat to incinerate him, dissipating those energies in the process.

In addition, Emperor's ability to significantly slow down or prevent the decay of his original body (see below) is further indicative of his incredibly impressive grasp of matters of CONTROL.

2. Ritual for accomplishment of prolonged life, decay prevention and power progression:

Spoiler

This is arguably the most complex ritual ever performed by dark side practitioners in the mythos. In this ritual, Emperor Vitiate not just tested the limits of his Alter abilities but also his Control and Sense abilities.

Q: Tested the limits of his Control abilities?

Yes! This ritual was / is heavily focused upon matters of CONTROL such as survivability, extension of life, and decay prevention; Emperor Vitiate pushed boundaries in these matters as evident from the aforementioned revelations. Emperor Vitiate orchestrated this ritual for his benefit, to augment his capabilities and prevailed. All others (8000 Sith Lords included) failed to match Emperor Vitiate in this ULTIMATE FORM OF TEST and perished.

Additional revelations:

Spoiler

Spoiler

It is absolutely clear from the aforementioned revelations that Emperor Vitiate performed this ritual to create a reservoir of energy for himself which he utilized to extend his life (transformed himself in to an immortal being) and also became more powerful then ever before. This ritual latest 10 days and Emperor Vitiate controlled every aspect of it (demonstrating incredible command of Control), using it to modify/improve his personal capabilities and attributes; none of the other participating Sith Lords demonstrated matching level of Control during this ritual and they ended up dead/vaporized at the time of its conclusion.

Q: Decay prevention?

Yes.

Spoiler

Revan attempted to assassinate Emperor Vitiate twice; once in 3960 BBY and once in 3950 BBY respectively. Emperor Vitiate was born in 5113 BBY and ascended (became Sith Emperor) in 4999 BBY. Therefore, Emperor Vitiate was about 1163 years old by the time of Revan's second assassination attempt on him. The aforementioned revelation indicates that Emperor Vitiate had been using his "original body" throughout this span of existence. Now this would have not been possible unless Emperor Vitiate could prevent decay and destruction of his original body (NOTE: dark side practices take toll on physical bodies) and he actually did. This is another remarkable feat of Control exhibited by Emperor Vitiate (something that Palpatine never demonstrated).

3. Essence Transfer:

Spoiler

To further increase his safeguard or chances of survival, Emperor Vitiate began to transfer his conscious from host to host, demonstrating remarkable power even in this form (matching Abeloth in this aspect). It shall be kept in mind that the act of essence transfer was a very risky task since the invasive conscious could be resisted by a self-aware individual (if strong enough to do so), resulting in failure of the essence transfer attempt and vanquishing of the essence itself. However, Emperor Vitiate was very powerful even in this form since he was able to possess many self-aware hosts and even influence external environment (ALTER) such as he damaged the Dark Temple (a gigantic structure which was extraordinarily durable as well) in an attempt to kill HoT (Hero of Tython) and his allies during the phase of one of his essence transfer attempts.

4. Force concealment:

Spoiler

It is obvious from the aforementioned revelation that Emperor Vitiate had mastered the art of Force concealment himself since he granted this capability to his special minion known as the First Son. Emperor Vitiate, himself, did not needed to conceal his presence from his potential enemies because he predominantly resided in his Sith Empire but he wanted to conceal the presence of his minions/agents (Children) whom he planted within the organizations such as the Jedi Order and the Republic, so he granted such power to First Son, a being who would monitor his Children.

It shall be kept in mind that the Children are not dark side practitioners themselves. They are "alternate personas" of the otherwise self-aware individuals which can be triggered/activated by the will of Emperor Vitiate. During this triggering phase, Children can perform actions that are unknown to them and beyond their capabilities because this hidden power within them was planted in them by Emperor Vitiate himself and is representative of his personal abilities actually. Here is an explanation:

Spoiler

Spoiler

5. Force speed

Every trained Force-user can use the Force to augment his physical capabilities such as the ability to react and move. Vitiate have fought many opponents during his span of existence and he was able to react to some of the greatest Jedi warriors/duelists of the mythos without issue.

Spoiler

It is apparent from the aforementioned revelation that Emperor Vitiate was an adept in the matters of Force speed as well. Within a span of few seconds, Emperor Vitiate managed to perform multiple actions:

  • Electrocuted/severely injured Revan;
  • Defended himself from flamethrower based attack;
  • Disintegrated a droid;
  • Moved towards Revan's position and picked up his lightsaber.

In-fact, the entire duel between Revan and Emperor Vitiate didn't lasted long (it ended in a span of some seconds); both Revan and Emperor Vitiate actually had been swift in their actions and reactions during the course of this duel.

Conclusive remarks:

Emperor Vitiate was unprecedentedly talented in the CONTROL aspects of the Force. Emperor Vitiate honed his defensive abilities to extraordinary lengths and was the sole-survivor of arguably the most dangerous and ambitious ritual ever attempted, thanks to his immense command of dark sorcery and being naturally "supremely powerful in the dark side." He could defend himself from various external threats during the course of combat and went to extreme lengths to significantly prolong his life, increase his power and personal safeguard.

Emperor Vitiate seemingly accomplished what Darth Plagueis wanted to accomplish; extend his life, prevent or minimize decay of his body and make himself stronger with midichlorian manipulation/alteration (Emperor Vitiate accomplished these objectives with his immense command of dark sorcery; Darth Plagueis had always desired to gain proficiency in the matters of dark sorcery). However, Emperor Vitiate went beyond the mechanics of midichlorian manipulation/alteration eventually after becoming proficient in the matters of immortality (Hint: Voices).

Aptly put here:

Sense:

"…Sense involves the next step, in which the Jedi recognizes the force in the universe outside herself." (Jedi Master Bodo Baas)

"Sense is a natural broadening of the principles of Control. As you extend your reach beyond yourself to your environment, be prepared to gain a deeper cosmic awareness as the Living Force reveals itself to you." (Jedi Seer Sabla-Mandibu)

Their are certain powers which require combination of Control, Sense and Alter abilities to manifest (Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion; Star Wars: Dark Empire: Sourcebook).

Following are some examples:-

1. Doppleganger (For explanation purpose)

Emperor Vitiate created several dopplegangers (apparitions that can interact with living beings) of himself during his second confrontation with HoT (Hero of Tyrhon) and his allies.

According to Star Wars: Dark Empire: Sourcebook, following abilities are the prerequisites to create dopplegangers:

- Control pain
- Emptiness
- Life detection
- Life sense
- Magnify senses
- Receptive telepathy
- Sense Force
- Telekinesis
- Projective telepathy
- Control another's pain
- Transfer Force
- Affect mind
- Dim other's senses

This power requires considerable command of Control, Sense and Alter abilities (Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion; Star Wars: Dark Empire: Sourcebook):

Control: Very Difficult
Sense: Very Difficult
Alter: Heroic

2. Force Drain (For explanation purpose)

Force Drain represents "spectrum of powers" which are used to steal life-forces of targets. Emperor Vitiate was a master of these powers.

According to Star Wars: Dark Empire: Sourcebook, following abilities are the prerequisites for Force Drain talents:

- Control Pain
- Hibernation Trance
- Life detection
- Life sense
- Magnify senses
- Receptive telepathy
- Sense Force
- Telekinesis
- Far-seeing
- Projectile telepathy
- Control another's pain
- Transfer Force
- Affect mind
- Control mind
- Dim other's senses

This talent requires command of Control, Sense and Alter abilities (Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion; Star Wars: Dark Empire: Sourcebook):

Control: Very Difficult
Sense: Depends on number of targets
Alter: Depends (Easy against willing; Difficult against ambivalent; Heroic against opponents)

3. Telepathic abilities

According to Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion, Force bonds or telepathic links require proficiency in both Control and Sense abilities.

Emperor Vitiate was an absolute master of telepathic abilities; Emperor's telepathic abilities covered all spectrums of the Force manipulation & utilization such as CONTROL, SENSE and ALTER. He forged telepathic links with many Force-users to further his agenda and manipulate them in ways like never seen before.

Emperor Vitiate created telepathic links with following:-

  • 8000 Sith Lord who participated in his most ambitious ritual on Medriaas
  • Imperial Guard (all)
  • Children (all)
  • Hand (all)
  • Revan (forced)

Emperor Vitiate could bolster the capabilities and power of those individuals with whom he shared a bond or telepathic link as apparent from the examples of Children and Imperial Guard:-

Children:

Spoiler

Spoiler

Imperial Guard:

Spoiler

Emperor Vitiate could share his personal power with his minions, increasing his reach in the process. Emperor Vitiate had accumulated so much power that he eventually began to share his power with large number of his minions as apparent from the aforementioned revelations.

While Emperor Vitiate could bolster the power of his minions, he could do the opposite as well; siphon energies of the individuals with whom he shared bonds or telepathic links, weakening them in the process. This is apparent from his actions against his Hands and Revan (See Force Drain section above).

Emperor Vitiate could telepathically communicate with any Force-user he wanted to from lightyear distances.

Notable feats:-

  • Emperor Vitiate telepathically warned HoT (Hero of Tython) that he cannot allow his plans to succeed prior to any confrontation with him.
  • Emperor Vitiate telepathically taunted Exal Kressh in normal circumstances and also in her dreams.
  • Emperor Vitiate telepathically reached out to a mighty Sith Warrior to help him in Voss.

Emperor Vitiate could also probe the minds of his targets as apparent from his actions against Revan:

Spoiler

NOTE: Probing the mind of a trained Force-user requires telepathic link or offensive intrusion with telepathic abilities because such a target can be unwilling and resist attempts to telepathically probe him or read his mind with power of the Force. This is why it becomes necessary to break the will of an unwilling Force-user to probe him. However, this is not required in case of a normal being; Jedi Knight Warren Sedoru was able to probe a normal being without any issue as an example.

4. Foresight

As apparent from the example of Force Drain (above), Emperor Vitiate did possess foresight abilities.

Here is additional proof:

Spoiler

Explanation:

Mandalore The Ultimate was visited by an agent of Emperor Vitiate (Emperor is the (hinted) Master in the aforementioned spoiler) who informed the Mandalore about a vision of Emperor Vitiate in relation to the Mandalorian Wars event and he foresaw victory of the Mandalorians in this conflict.

Their were two Dramath(s) actually. Both were father and son as well. The father was killed by Emperor Vitiate and the son fled from Medriaas, fearing the former's wrath. Emperor Vitiate sought his remains.

This mysterious agent was tasked by Emperor Vitiate to find the remains of the son and convince the Mandalorians to attack the Republic.

Conclusive remarks:

Even though the existing lore does not expands much on the subject of Emperor's proficiency in the aspects of Sense, he is proficient in these aspects nonetheless. It makes sense for him to be otherwise he would never have been able to manipulate his surroundings in extraordinary ways or unleash powers that require proficiency in Sense.

Now their is some confusion about Emperor's prophetic abilities due to this statement of Revan:

"The Emperor used me as his link to the light side of the Force—the Jedi Order. Through me, he saw visions."

In addition, Sith Emperor took interest in prophetic abilities of Voss species (noted for high accuracy) and acquired a Voss host to learn about this species' capabilities.

These revelations actually indicate Emperor's attempt to understand the light side of the Force and prophetic abilities of a gifted species to further hone his personal talents in these aspects of the Force.

Keep in mind that the Force is always in motion, that visions represent possibilities of events in the future as apparent from these revelations from wise and powerful Jedi.

Spoiler

&

"Always in motion is the future." (Grand Master Yoda)

Emperor Vitiate was surprised by the outcome of the Mandalorian Wars since it contradicted his vision; Revan prevented the Mandalorians from winning the war (against the wishes of the Jedi High Council of his time surprisingly). Emperor Vitiate then decided to further hone his prophetic abilities and this is why he experimented with Voss and Revan. The Force indeed works in mysterious ways.

Alter:

"Alter is the third and most difficult area to master, for it involves the student's ability to modify the Force and redistribute its energies." (Jedi Master Bodo Baas)

"As a youngling you learned Control; as a Padawan you studied Sense; and as a Knight your education in the Force will continue in the discipline of Alter. These abilities, which use the Force to physically impact the surrounding environment, are the most difficult to master. But without Alter you are like a mud limpet - perceiving your world but incapable of touching it. With Alter, you will grow arms and legs. Learn these skills, practice them daily and you will deepen your aptitude for Alter throughout your career." (Jedi Seer Sabla-Madibu)

1. Telekinesis

Emperor Vitiate demonstrated remarkable command of telekinetic applications. He could perform telekinetic feats without even gestures. Some examples:

Spoiler

Spoiler

Emperor Vitiate could even "all but atomize" some opponents with his telekinetic abilities:

Spoiler

NOTE: Emperor's feat of disintegrating or obliterating T3-M4 droid possibly represents an advanced telekinetic technique known as Combustion:

Spoiler

Emperor Vitiate could overwhelm other masters of telekinetic abilities with his telekinetic prowess with barely an effort:

Spoiler

Emperor Vitiate possessed enormous raw power, enough to collapse gigantic buildings (if he wanted to); some of his followers (Dark Council members) were able to collapse buildings, but Emperor Vitiate was more powerful then any of them.

2. Alter environment capabilities & currently known powers:

Emperor Vitiate was a master of unleashing the Force in the form of potent energies in offensive ways such as crackling bolts with hatred, drain a target of its life force, unleash concentrated blasts of energies to break a target, sever the connection of a target with the Force itself and even go as far as to alter the environments of planets with storms of energies.

Force lightning:

Emperor Vitiate could unleash exceptionally lethal crackling bolts of energy with combination of his hatred and power (described as "swirling storm of pure dark side energy" in canon), lethal enough to utterly destroy powerful Force-users in a span of seconds. Such an expression of the dark side is comparable to lethal manifestations of Sorcery against which conventional defensive measures do not work:

Spoiler

Revan survived this attack of this intensity because T3-M4 saved him with quick action by interrupting Emperor Vitiate in the process. As noted earlier in the CONTROL section above, Revan got severely wounded in an extremely short period of time by the storm of lightning unleashed by Emperor Vitiate. If T3-M4 had not interfered, Revan would have died or worse and quickly.

It shall be kept in mind that Revan was an absolute master of Tutaminis (defensive aspects of the Force) and he still stood no chance against the might of the Emperor. Earlier, Revan had comfortably handled another Sith Lord with amazing grasp of Sith lightning (Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide reveals that even the most powerful Jedi struggle to deflect Sith lightning bursts) but Emperor Vitiate is seemingly on a whole new level in these matters in comparison to any Force-user in the mythos.

While Emperor Vitiate could be extremely lethal with his crackling bolts, he could also be very much in control of this powers or calculative: he unleashed a storm of crackling bolts on a Jedi Strike Team led by Tol Braga with which he disarmed the entire team but did not burn the Jedi to ash or utterly destroy them (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Game). Emperor Vitiate decided to use these Jedi as his pawns, sparing their lives.

NOTE: Emperor's only known apprentice Exal Kressh also demonstrated the capability to disarm her opponents with her powerful lightning. She disarmed Thanaton with a single burst of lightning, destroying his lighsaber in the process.

Emperor Vitiate possessed such a command of crackling bolts that he could possibly summon storms of lighting on planetary scale as apparent from his actions on Dromund Kaas; he is rumored to have (single-handedly) performed rituals to permanently alter the environmental conditions of Dromund Kaas, transforming it in to place strong in the dark side on the whole.

Spoiler

Force Drain:

Emperor Vitiate was a master of Force Drain and associated talents, capable of siphoning energies from enormous number of individuals simultaneously.

Emperor Vitiate created a "gigantic reservoir of energy" for himself from the ritual he orchestrated on Medriaas, leaving this planet a void in the universe. Emperor Vitiate consumed this reservoir of energy with his dark sorcery (Force Drain), making himself more powerful then he ever had been, prolong his life for centuries, prevent decay of his original body and even share his immense power with other Force-users (minions) on galactic scale to increase his reach accordingly.

Reminder:

Spoiler

After this power progression, Emperor Vitiate have been implied to be capable of pulling off Nathema like dark sorcery without external aid in canon sources:

Spoiler

Revan figured out this as well:

Spoiler

NOTE: For additional information about the Emperor's Force Drain related talents, revisit the SENSE section above.

Force blasts:

Emperor Vitiate could reshape his crackling bolts or offensive telepathic applications in to concentrated blasts of energies which he could unleash on his opponents to overwhelm them. Emperor Vitiate unleashed this power on a Jedi Strike Team of some of the most powerful Jedi of the Order to break it, twisting them all to the dark side (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Game; Star Wars: The Old Republic: Encyclopedia).

Telepathic abilities:

Emperor Vitiate possessed unprecedented command of telepathic abilities, utilizing such powers for offensive purposes as well. As hinted earlier, Emperor's telepathic abilities encompassed all spectrums of his abilities: Control, Sense and Alter.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Companion confirms that powers such as Control Mind require combination of Contol, Sense and Alter abilities to work.

Emperor Vitiate could affect and control minds of his targets to persuade them to do his bidding against their will (reducing them to puppets), inflict pain on them, disorient them by dampening their senses, probe them and even destroy their minds. Sith Emperor demonstrated the power to break even powerful Force-users, an impossible task for most Force-users.

Emperor Vitiate have gone as far as to break multiple powerful Force-users simultaneously. To give you an idea of how difficult is this task: it took combined telepathic might of Mace Windu, Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker to compel a normal but strong-willed individual (Cad Bane) to reveal the truth to them during an interrogation process. In contrast, Emperor's telepathic abilities are on a level which is difficult to comprehend for even other Force-users; he would have single-handedly broken the aforementioned Jedi instead and not just Cad Bane.

Spoiler

Emperor Vitiate once reduced a Sith (Lord) to trembling child like condition with just a minor mental brush:

Spoiler

Sever Force:

Emperor Vitiate possessed the capability to sever the connection of Force-users from the Force itself to make then vulnerable like he did to Lord Dramath:

Spoiler

Emperor Vitiate performed the aforementioned feat when he was just 10 years old. One can only imagine how proficient he would have become with this talent at the height of his power.

Mysterious powers:

Emperor Vitiate, being an absolute master of dark arts, was capable of summoning powers of extremely lethal proportions to destroy overwhelming odds.

Here is an example of the Emperor utilizing his dark sorcery in a confrontation to overcome overwhelming odds:

Spoiler

Emperor Vitiate may have known lot of powers but the content featuring him is limited at the moment so full extent of his capabilities are unknown accordingly as well.

Conclusive remarks:

The fact that they showed no concern over letting an armed Sith Lord speak to the Emperor face-to-face without any kind of preparation was a testament to the Emperor’s unfathomable power. (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan)

Sith Emperor possessed power of such magnitude that he overshadowed millions of Force-users during his span of existence (including remarkably powerful ones) and was able to spread his influence on galactic scale without use of technological means. In single combat, Emperor Vitiate could disarm and eliminate multiple powerful Force-users simultaneously. On one occasion, Emperor Vitiate killed 9 Dark Council members after summoning them in to his throne room (Scourge found this out and informed Revan and Meetra about this development; for more information, consult Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan). It shall be noted that a lone Dark Council member is considered to be a dark side prodigy (Star Wars: The Old Republic Revan; Star Wars: The Old Republic: Game: Game; Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia). Emperor Vitiate possessed such command of dark sorcery that he could influence whole planets, transforming them in to nexuses of dark side. Emperor Vitiate had acquired such capabilities which Darth Plagueis wished to acquire and only Darth Sidious came close to unlock among all of the known Sith Lords in the mythos. In-fact, Emperor Vitiate was making arrangements to transform himself in to an omnipotent being of unbelievable power by consuming the entire galaxy after centuries worth of studying the dark side (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Encyclopedia). This grand plan was fortunately or unfortunately compromised by actions of HoT (Hero of Tython) and his allies (including Lord Scourge) who stopped Emperor Vitiate before it was too late. Emperor Vitiate was so powerful that even the mighty Dread Masters served him and only him.

Addressing misconceptions:

It is often asserted that the trio of Revan, Meetra and Scourge could undermine Emperor Vitiate in single combat. This was a possibility but a remote one; the trio could undermine Emperor Vitiate but only in circumstantial way. The novel explicitly confirms that even this formidable trio did not match the power of Emperor Vitiate:

Spoiler

As apparent from the aforementioned revelation, Emperor Vitiate would have eventually slaughtered even the trio of Revan, Meetra and Scourge in single combat. While it is true that their is strength in numbers and **** can happen during combat situations, unprecedentedly powerful individuals are still not easy to defeat.

Q: HoT (Hero of Tython) undermined Sith Emperor?

While HoT (Hero of Tyrhon) was likely an incredibly powerful Force-user himself (a champion of light), it was not possible for him to undermine Emperor Vitiate either without assistance from Scourge and other allies.

Spoiler

Lord Scourge learned a great deal about Emperor Vitiate while serving him as Emperor's Wrath for about 3 centuries. He eventually found out that Emperor Vitiate would orchestrate his next phase of power progression (grand plan hinted above) after starting a war with the Republic and the Jedi Order; while Emperor's Sith Empire would be preoccupied with the war, Emperor would use this situation to his advantage by commencing a ritual of such a scope that it would consume the entire galaxy at its conclusion and make him unbelievably powerful (omnipotent). It would be during this time that Lord Scourge would find the necessary opening to undermine Emperor Vitiate because the latter would have invested much of his powers in this ritual to ensure its success and he would be vulnerable in combat during this situation. And indeed this is how the events unfolded.

Emperor Vitiate eventually orchestrated his grand plan during the Great Galactic War after learning about a plot of the Jedi Order to stop him. Lord Scourge betrayed Emperor Vitiate at this moment and facilitated the Jedi Order's attempts to undermine him (Emperor). The most promising agent of the Jedi Order was Hero of Tyrhon; Emperor Vitiate had easily defeated even him in a fair confrontation, turning him into a puppet of his will. After a long time, Jedi Masters Orgus Din's spirit assisted HoT (Hero of Tython) to break away from Emperor's telepathic influence:

Spoiler

With this newfound power, HoT (Hero of Tython) was better prepared to resist Emperor's telepathic subjugation much like Revan before him. Soon after, Lord Scourge joined HoT (Hero of Tython) to undermine Emperor's efforts to consume the entire galaxy, temporarily weakening Emperor Vitiate in the process by interrupting his most ambitious ritual, and lured HoT (Hero of Tython) and his allies towards (another) confrontation with a vulnerable (temporarily weakened) Emperor in which the latter suffered a major setback and his grand plan failed.

Here;

You've learned that the Emperor is on Dromund Kaas, temporarily weakened by your efforts thwarting his plan for galactic annihilation. Striking at him now is your best chance to defeat him once and for all. (Star Wars: The Old Republic: Game)

As hinted earlier, under fair circumstances, defeating Emperor Vitiate was most likely not possible as apparent from this confrontation:

Spoiler

Spoiler

Four of some of the Order's most powerful Jedi (as a team) miserably failed against the Emperor when he wasn't vulnerable. Now what could one Jedi do?

Yes, some of the Emperor's powers are not infallible such as his telepathic abilities but it is not easy to develop a countermeasure against his telepathic powers. The select few who managed to do so (e.g. Revan and Hero of Tython) had ended up broken from exposure to Emperor's oppressive telepathic domination and were NOT ABLE TO break free without external aid (Revan from Jedi High Council's mindwipe and Hero of Tython from aid of Orgus Din's spirit). HoT (Hero of Tython) had certainly improved by the time of his second confrontation with Emperor Vitiate (developed the capability to cope with and/or counter the effect of powerful dark side influences including vulnerability to Emperor's telepathic abilities like Revan before him with great power) but this still may not have been enough to undermine Emperor Vitiate in a "fair scenario" as apparent from his extraordinary powers on the whole (details above) and lesson learned from Revan's second confrontation with him which also ended in a failure.

Now, Emperor Vitiate was indeed in the phase of recovering his strength at the time of his second confrontation with HoT (Hero of Tython) and his allies but he was still noticeably away from his original strength. In addition, Emperor Vitiate decided to utilize his illusion talent to confuse his opponents during this second confrontation which is another indication of his "temporary vulnerability" during this time, since he had never resorted to using doppelgangers in combat situations before.

In the nutshell, Emperor's fall is a plot-device related development. He had reached too far with his ambitions and the Force (having its own will) seemingly orchestrated his downfall. His fall was necessary, otherwise their would have been no galaxy in which much of the Star Wars based events have taken place. Think.

Wise Jedi have often stated this:

"The Force works in mysterious ways, it seems."

But seriously, it's getting a bit much. What exactly do you want? What is this supposed to do? I know you've put a lot of work into this, but let's get real, this is going too far. You've created two threads like this, and in any thread featuring Vitiate, you post more walls of text.

Walls of text? Is this how you perceive my writings?

Honestly, you are welcome to not read my contributions because your attitude confirms that it is not possible to have meaningful discussions with you, at-least not possible with me.

Nothing is getting a bit much. It is my personal decision to discuss anything related to Star Wars just like all fans do. You guys have posted your pieces. Let me post mine.

I have lot of sources at my disposal which make it possible for me to bring some factual information to light. It doesn't hurts to EDUCATE others. Well, I LEARN from others as well.

Do I need permission to discuss some topics now? This is a DISCUSSION form, remember?

Jeez, some people.
