Augmenting your gear never, ever cost that much.
The first few days, augments were going for 100-150k and augmentation kits for 90-100k. Assuming you don't have a crew skill that can make either of those it would cost you (150000+100000+36000)x14 = 4.004.000.

That was pretty much the average cost to fully augment your PVP gear the first few days, without crafting anything at all. Now, the prices are much lower for both the augments and the augmentation kits.
Not even close to 1bn credits - not now and not then
Plus, people who have been around for a long time, probably had those 4mil to spend on augmenting their gear and it's not like you get the full set in one day

Selling cartel market stuff could've made you the 4mil credits needed, faster if you were a new player.
Just like having a guild where people help each other out would mean that you'd get them cheaper or that someone who does Ranked PVP will get to Full Conqueror much faster than someone who doesn't or that me, having been around since launch, could afford to twink out my alts while leveling them and I had some legacy perks that someone new to the game didn't (and that's even before the Cartel Market).

There are always "advantages" people have over others.

And (I can't believe I'm actually going to say this but) I agree with the way you described it previously: It's Paid to Fastrack.
But I honestly don't see the problem with it.
It makes EA/Bioware money and people can't even get to BiS even if they spent a small fortune. So, if someone is dumb enough to spend a small fortune to fastrack in a game where the main point is to have fun getting from point A to point B and not getting to point B and being ultra-powerful the first day, good on them.

It's not that you'll be opposed by those "with credits" (I'm not a multi-millionaire by any means), it's that you are simply and categorically wrong. You are incorrect. You don't know what P2W really means.

Augmenting your gear is only expensive if you have no idea how it works.

I'd rather consider this a P2WALF (Pay 2 win a little faster)
After all, people say "time is money", so I don't mind if people get stuff with time (grind) or money (Cartel market). Those are simply different form of currency, there are people that are rich of the former and other that have plenty of the latter. For BiS gear, instead, you need (in a perfect world) another currency: skill, because you have to clear the Ops to get that stuff.

Either that or OP is some fairly subtle trolling.

"Worst P2W I've seen."

Your title tells me you haven't actually seen true P2W.
This game is not, but that also depends on your idea of the "win". Get good enough gear to do HM FP's, sure... if completing HM FP's and SM Op's is your definition of "win". You can also pay to get lvl 50 items. So, because you can complete lvl 50 FP's and Ops, its P2W? No.
P2W means having to pay to get the gear to do the highest tier content. This game doesn't even give you the option too do that. Completing HM Op's and up are not designed for the gear you can "buy". Therefore this is not P2W, you are wrong. Don't try changing the definition to suite your argument.

The CM does not allow you to do anything you cant do via regular game mechanics.
CM gives you an optional way to earn ingame credits by selling the cosmetic items to other players.

That earned ingame credits from the CM can be spent on buying modifications that could enhance your PVE gear and make you skip certain progress.

It's indirect pay to "win".

Do you comprehend?

Heh. Same old tired P2W argument comes up every couple of months. It is not P2W. But there are those that see a competitive advantage to turning cash>creds>gear. Yet, this happens in most games of this ilk as the highest end game gear is not attainable in this way.

Bottom line... nothing new here. P2W phobia is alive and well. Reminds me of the thread a few months ago where someone claimed the Kurtob mount was P2W because of the speeder rating/knockoff.

Anytime you use out of game cash to skip hurdles that are in game, you are paying to win. Just because most here are more accepting of it doesn't change the fact of what it is at it's core.

What exactly do you "win" in PvE? Whom have you beaten?
