TLDR: Rate this thread to get it noticed so healers can get skill target forwarding


Many Healers come from "other games" and specifics of healing between games could be debated all day. But there is a simple fact to be said about healers in this game. WE NEED SKILL TARGET FORWARDING (yes i am yelling).

Skill target forwarding means i can cast a heal on my target and if he is an Alli it will heal him, i can ALSO cast damage skills, debuffs and mezz on my allie and it will be applied to HIS target. this way healers can heal dps and crowd control without switching targets.

This option is available in nearly every MMO many of us depend on it to heal you and cast our skills efficiently without confusion of switching targets CONSTANTLY.

the "focus target" only works on my focus target and requires even more key commands. a simple skill target forwarding option will simplify everything.

look everyone wants to be the hero and tank or DPS. Healers take a boring role that rarely gets glory but is quick to get shame if things go wrong. so if you want healed correctly efficiently and effectively. PLEASE RATE THIS THREAD post a thumbs up, just agree! we need to get this pressing matter noticed ASAP so we can get back to keeping all of you alive!!

if you dont use this in other games or need it then congrats we arent asking for it to be turned on by default, just an option. this hurts no one.

They already have this: Keybindings -> Targeting -> Acquire Target's Target.

no the way this feature is implemented in many other titles we are use to does NOT require an additional key to be pressed to activate. its simply a filter of postive effects stick to allies and negative effects pass through to their target automatically.

Is that actually what the OP is talking about (Target of Target) or is that setting up a button that, when pressed, moves your target selection to what your current target has selected? Because those are by no means the same thing.

What the OP is talking about is never having to select anything but an ally, usually the tank, and still being able to both support and attack without changing targets. Honestly this is useful for pretty much all classes in groups, and also has the benefit of allowing you to see who your allies and enemies have targeted/are attacking. The Tank can SEE when one mob in a large group has started attacking the Healer, for example.

Honestly the lack of an automated and visual set up for Target of Target is one of the things that bugs me about this game.

Why would I waste precious resources on damage?? That's the DPS's job. Mine is to keep the tanks/DPS alive what should cost all my resources anyway if the encounter is properly tuned.
And the people shall deliver the wicked under your divine judgement.
Where their sins will be weighed in balance with all that is just and true.

the tank issue is something ive notices as well we REALLY need a see targets target option. DPS is so scattered in groups due to not having this feature. simple target assist is basic. but these are EASY fixes if they know we need them. I think targeting in general will be improved because in a crowd its nearly impossible to tell which mob u actually have targeted

Actually, it does hurt people in the same way that making automated tools to simplify anything hurts the game. If you eliminate the work that has to be done to perform a role then the game becomes a simple numerical tweaking game which has happened in WoW and is one of the reasons I've quit playing it. Taken to the extreme you get "what is your gear score? Ok, let's go in and faceroll this content." It does no service to the design crew since there's nothing but absolute rate equations to use and it does no service to the user community who have nothing to work on, gain skill in or improve other than gear score.

Now, that's not to say that there is not a community out there who *wants* that game. I just ain't it.

what about a mezz or deuff or interupt? while you may JUST HEAL some of us are capable of contributing much more to groups

Again, two options... Make people learn or make it simple. I opt for making people learn. There should be something more to a game than "have I rolled the right random number to improve my gear score" to advancement. At least that is my personal opinion...
