I recently installed the game on a different computer from scratch using the latest launcher available on the website.
After experiencing PTS asset file bugs and this new "reorganizing data...verifying" functionality on this ST streaming client, I've had enough and would like to know if the prior non-ST launcher is still available anywhere.

Update 12 Aug 16 - EA Answers HQ post is at this link any further issues/questions please post at the forum at this link

Yes - NOTE this is a complete download again

right mouse click on game shortcut and select open file location

open the launcher.settings file in notepad and locate the below line and edit to the below

Quote:
, "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"BR\" }"

Change to:

, "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"SSN\" }"
Quote:
, "bitraider_disable": false

Change to:

, "bitraider_disable": true
SAVE the changes.
Delete the BitRaider folder then start the launcher.

or if you have the old version still on another computer , copy all the game folders over to this computer
edit - going BR to SSN is a complete re-download, going SSN to BR isn't

If we copy the entire folder of Bioware on program files, change from BR to SSN and paste the folder after the change, this will work to have the the BR edition of the client?

If this doesn't get fixed soon, I will stop paying to play this game or probably stop playing altogether. I don't have much time to play, so when 30-45 minutes or more every time I attempt to log in is wasted due to this awful "reorganizing data", it isn't worth my gaming dollar.

bitraider does more than download it tries to verify and organize your data so if you change the launcher.settings as above this crap will go away this is what people dont understand is that bitraider loads with the game and is always mucking around.

Yes, it load with the game, but in only download available content, unless explicitly asked for defragmentation (that's what you are incompetently trying to refer as "mucking around") of downloaded packages.
If it would be defragmenting packages while you play game, this would prevent you from accessing scenes that has resources from packages currently being moved around by defragmentation process. That, aside from the fact, that defragmentation is a very intense and stressful process by itself, which should not be done too often, if you don't want to trash your hard disk in a matter of months.
In short, what you are suggesting is a dangerous and unsupported action, which has no warranty to work, or even cease to exist in near future. This, aside from obvious problem of redownloading a whole game.

Company schrill. this game had 100's of thousands of downloads without bitraider this is the kind of fix it when it is not broken then take no responsibility for having done so. It was probably sold to increase players by making able to play without downloading the whole 25GB rather spend time on trying to reduce the footprint it self which would cost developement money.

Good Day
