That does not account for many circumstances at all. There are quite a few legitimate reasons why the scenario that you depict could and does happen to people. Why should they lose what they have created?
Crosswire - Republic Commando
Commander - The Way of the Maker Christian/Family-rated Guild
Ebon Hawk

BioWare opened too many servers and then had to consolidate them, its is most certainly 100% BioWare's fault that so many players lost names they had since pre-launch. In over a decade of MMO gaming this is the only company that I have had to deal with that has massively screwed over their customers in this manner.

Or they can just go somewhere else. Personally, I don't care and I doubt you do, but if I were Bioware I wouldn't want to lose a customer over it.

That's the rub. I'm a big believer that people should "put up or shut up." I've been called a Biodrone for saying it, but I think people have to own their disappointment and leave. Lack of money is the only think EA listens to.

Neither does he. Also I didn't say that's how they do view it, I was proposing that's how they should view it. It was a suggestion not a prediction. That's why I said "I would argue" meaning my counter-proposal, not "The force tells me that Bioware thinks this"

They can't suit everyone's whim. The customer is not always right.

They didn't create anything. They are essentially leasing/renting name slots and use of Bioware's property. Bioware owns all our characters and could delete them all tomorrow if it felt fit. The question is what would build the most goodwill with their fanbase. Righting an old wrong with people who are still pissed about this issue over a year later or to take away tons of idle names from people that likely aren't coming back and risk pissing off a percentage of those that do come back?

Since BWEA has done nothing on the "name taken" front, I'd say the facts are on his side.

Then you are ignorant. The fact that Bioware hasn't done anything doesn't change my opinion on what they should do. learn2read
