It seems most item in the game sell for what they cost to make.... what have you all found is a good way to make money??

 

Certain items in the market may have a gap you can fill. But what sells varies by level, by server, and by time.

 

Search your local GTN for holes where there isn't as much gear or where gear is selling for significantly more than the materials cost. Make a few items and see how they sell. If they go fast corner the market as quick as possible.

Depending on what your craftskill is you can make a lot of money by ignoring the top end products that seemingly sell for hundreds of thousands and instead concentrate on the lower end of the market

 

People say Armstech is useless but low level oranges always sell, and for profit

Top end blue sell really well. I have had major success selling armorings, mods, enhancements, augments, ear pieces, etc. And the cost in materials vs sell pricing is actually a better percentage than purple. Yes, you need to sell ten to fifteen blues to get the value of one purple, but they sell consistently and persistently.
