Yeah! It is a slap in the face to give us 490 coins (or 485 if we want the title on all our characters!)

I wish my employer would slap me in the face with money that way too....

Yes, it's SOE, Blizzard's approach has been "it'll ship when it's ready".

To break from the theme of this thread, I'm going to abstain from the bravado, name-calling and drama that is flying around with reckless abandon. Instead, I'm going to chime in and voice my sincere gratitude on this *FREE* 500CC gift.

Thank you BioWare for my complimentary 500CCs, and thank you letter. They were both well received and appreciated. You guys didn't have to do anything, but the fact that you guys did is a welcome gesture. I put these 500CCs to good use: I was able to afford one more vehicle collections unlock, and appearance modifications on two of my toons. So, thank you very much!

I look forward to the almost free gift/title coming on July 15th.

I've never heard of Gamebreaker and after watching that video, I would never watch another thing they did or ever take them seriously.

The opening line is what did it in for me, not for being unprofessional (which it was), but for the utter fact that he felt he was entitled to get anything in the first place.

I'm new to the game (2 months, just subbed to play with my wife who only wanted to play because of Treek), but honestly I've been playing games long enough (30+ years) to know you are entitled to nothing other then what you paid for. That isn't to defend Bioware/EA in terms of the CM (there are some things on there I take umbrage with but not much and it's due to nothing more then personal opinion), but honestly you get what you pay for and are entitled to nothing more. Saying that you got **** for the KoTOR anniversary simple because you have to buy it with 10CC (I had 40 before leaving Hutta on my first character) is ridiculous.

Granted that is my opinion, but I'm not likely to take anyone seriously for referencing this video if they have an issue.

Very good point! I like your analogy too.

I think it's obvious that I tend to side with someone like Ayelinna, who is pointing out what NEEDS to be fixed, not someone like Andryah, who tells you to ignore it and be happy. They both have a point, but one is looking to get something fixed, the other is ignoring the problem.

What's odd is that, while I'm playing, I tend to take the Andryah approach and simply ignore the little stuff that bugs the f outta me and encourage others to do the same. However, when it comes to the forums, I want the Devs to know what is bugging the hell outta some players. In-game, I try to make people happy. Here, I try to get things fixed.

Neither of them is "evil". Neither is wrong either. They just have different styles. And I'm going to also bet that Ayelinna plays this game probably at least twice as much and Andryah does...probably more.

It's not free money. You're paying a sub to get...content. *GASP* I know right! Weird. I mean, look at all those other MMOs that put in updates and don't charge for it.

I had nothing against the 500 CC. Did I wish it was something more useful/wanted? Yes. Seeing as how it's really just code, I don't see how they couldn't have given, I don't know, free hypercrates away to subs.

Yes. I get it. You blindly think things change and you shouldn't be against it, and this is just how it has to be, so you accept it. Well, other's don't want to accept that being a sub now just means, oh hey, you get to level a little faster.

What would you say if they decided "Oh hey! We have three new events and the old events coming back, but you have to pay 1000 CC to join in the events now." that's they way things are looking to go towards to quite a few people, and the more you say "I accept this and this." the more they think "We can get away with this and this."
"It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more...than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so *********** what." - Stephen Fry

Care to explain where Ayelinna points out, through constructive criticism, what needs to be fixed?
Because I just keep seeing "disappointed" but no suggestions.

andy plays this game a lot , and I side with andy and agree with the person point of view a lot .
in minor occassion I disagree , but this is one I disagree .

what could have been done give sub the black metalic blue dye !
simple work , everybody happy !
that wouldn't be a lot of work at all , since CE vendor where thrilled with black yellow dye .

See 500 CC isn't a worthy gift , when exclusief gift are so easily attained .

I dunno. I don't think things are quite that bad. I'm still wary from the datacubes, but that's neither here nor there. My point is, things could be worse, but it is our responsibility as consumers to voice our concerns on certain aspects of the game. Having said all that, I am fine with the CC grant, but I can see why someone would be dissatisfied with it. I, myself, expected something more substantial, like a pet, but I'm still reasonably satisfied.

Unless you get 1000CC per month on your stipend, then yes it is free. Claiming it isn't, because you had to have an active sub to get it, is facetious. Otherwise anything they would have given you could be considered not free.

But the way it really works out is that as a one time show of appreciation, they gave you 500CC (without the need to pay an additional $4.99) on top of what the price of your subscription already buys you. Think of it similar to a store promotion where you get something free with a purchase of X. If you were going to purchase X then you got something completely free, but if you bought X just to get the free item, you really paid for the free item and got X for free. Either way you got something without having to pay extra for it (or more colloquially known as free).
