It's completely legit to work for something because it's hard or demanding to get. As well as it's legit to want that thing to stay that way. I never understood why some people in this community have problem with this.

Things that are difficult to get rarely remain that way. Many games have examples of this.

It is the way MMOs work. What you work hard for today will not be as hard to acquire tomorrow.

It's even more legit to say "Here you go, have a free one on us because we want you to have it."

If I get it by facerolling, that has no bearing on you getting it by "working hard" (in a game, that you play, for fun). If a computer game is where you seek challenge, you obviously don't seek that much challenge.

Well it's the same thing like if from the next Olympics, they would start giving bronze olympic medal to everybody participating. Would you call that nonsense or blame true medalists for wanting to be "special snowflakes"?

It doesn't matter because those who earned it know what they did, know they earned it and have that sense of accomplishment that no one can take away from you.

It's not your business how anyone else gets what they get.

This is the last one I saw yesterday, and I see at least one a day on the general forums where someone posts a "give me this on the CM because I'm too lazy to earn it" request.

On topic, until someone actually gets the case or Eric steps in and answers it, it doesn't make much sense to rant and rave about all the effort being "wasted". After all, I'm sure you got some speeder parts out of the deal...

So you see maybe one a day, probably less, in comparison to the threads that go on and on about CM having too much and players wanting stuff to play through and your conclusion is that most players want more CM stuff?

No, I actually see more posts on people tired of the CM...mostly because I'm the one making them. You just asked for an example and I remembered that from yesterday and the fact that I see those quite often and wonder why the heck people are asking to have to pay real cash for stuff.

What! I've been digging on Alderaan for the past couple of days for a Dreadseed chest and gotten three Star Forager chests and bracers out of it (and of course hours of my time wasted). I guess right now it'll be faster to just do the whole quest chain again on another alt, not that I'll be doing that anytime soon.

None of this refutes his point, you are either playing for enjoyment in which case this is a moot point, or you're treating your game time like a chore, in which case (channeling your mother) turn off your game and do your actual chores, they are piling up.

I for one have never complained about having to work for my equipment, because my equipment is earned through pvp. I obviously enjoy pvp so that's what I spend my time doing, I can tell you I'm not going to grind for hours upon hours to earn equipment, if the only real value to that equipment is that it will make me better at grinding for hours upon hours to earn the next piece of equipment. If you're bored then you're boring.
