Value of a set bonus

I was not really sure where to put this question and figured here would be a good idea as it is not so much about a specific class but all of them and their set bonuses.

There are those of us, myself included, that grab verpine gear off the vendor for ultimate comms. Now is replacing the armoring mod out of it in favor of an arkanian set bonus worth losing the armor, mainstat and endurance granted along with the overall "rating" of the armor being lower? Does the value of the set bones, be it a healer one or tank one or Dps one, outweigh the armor, mainstat, and endurance?

It is very much AC/build dependent and there is no general rule. Some specs are far more dependent on it. Shadow tanks being the example of a spec that is hugely dependent on it, and a gunslinger can live without it, but may run into some energy management problems.

Some specs benefit from having 2x 2pc PVE and PVP bonus, some from even something else, so you should really discuss this with specialists on your class/role/spec.

Like Azrael said it is dependent of AC
In shadow tanks for example is more useful the 2 piece set bonus of campaign gear than the increase endurance of 2 69 armorings. In my sent I've calculated that I get more dps from the 4 piece sent bonus from my arkanian armorings than what I would get from the increased Strength from 72 armorings
