Whether or not you personally like or dislike the cartel market is a moot point.

The game would be dead by now if it weren't for people being willing/able to spend money on cartel coins.

There will always be a subset of people who dislike the cartel market, and its affect on the game economy, or the perception that it gives people with more real money some kind of an advantage.

This is true to some degree, but it's a fact of modern gaming life. Especially for a game that is as expensive to develop for as this one is.

Bioware and EA have to pay for the game operations, support and development somehow. The monthly subscription model is all but dead. Many people just don't want to pay for a monthly subscription to a video game.

Many gamers have come to expect something (i.e. a great gaming experience) for little or no expense of their own.

There are also people who have a chip on their shoulder about paying for a subscription. Just a few days ago I was chatting privately with someone about their Free to Play Experience. They were proud of the fact that they had never subscribed to the game, but in the same conversation, they told me that they had paid for enough cartel coins to get all of the unlocks to re-create the subscriber experience, and continued to buy enough to get weekly flashpoint and operation passes.

It's like he felt like he has outsmarted EA by not subscribing, and instead spending a small fortune (far more than the cost of the sub) unlocking their not-so-free to play account into a subscriber level of service.

Buy legacy unlocks, different perks ect. That's what I do. I have millions of credits and I use all my free coins to buy unlocks for all my characters. That and save so when something comes out, o I don't know, like the cathar race, I have "free" coins to spend on it. That way I don't have to come to the forums yelling Omgz!!! Bioware is charging subscribers for Cathar race!!!

Hey, I made this claim about the Revan mask ONE time. YOU are the ones repeating it.

Is it November of 2012? This is a topic that has been beat to death since the F2P launch. Credits are easy enough to get in this game anyway. Frankly, all the people that complain about stuff going through the CM should be thankful that people are allowed to sell the stuff....because that means pretty much everything off the CM can be obtained through credits instead of Cartel Coins.

Hence why EVE online hired actual economists to handle a credit-removal, making sure it didn't have a massively negative impact on the game.

And why many economics students have been given projects that involve studying in-game economies.
To the last part, sounds like a terrible professor to give a project like that since an ingame economy works NOTHING like real world economy :P

I can't wait to spend more money in this game - I love the packs and I love the armors. Bring it on.

The Market and F2P saved this game from possible oblivion.

Necessary evil or godsend...however you look at it, one thing is pretty clear to any reasonable person IMO...this game has much more to offer to the general casual playerbase than it had when it launched, and a wider appeal has to be healthy for the game.

One can complain about what has happened to the market, the whole F2P/Market mechanism and it's popularity in the market today, the idea that games have progressively became easier in recent years to appeal to a more casual audience....but the simple fact is this is the here and now, good or bad we all have to take a bite.

Or, if you have such an issues with it as he obviously does, could just stop playing. Because if you really cared about your cause that much, you wouldn't support something that is agonizing to you now would ya? But as you keep staying subscribed, everything you say is said with a grain of salt. :P (Not you Artemis)

I know you didn't direct that at me. You meant it to the OP.

I generally do not like to lose any player unless they are completely toxic to the community or playerbase. We have a few of those types here, but they are not common.

I'd rather folks stick around, even if it's as preferred.
