You made a big mistake BW on the new Turncoat armor

Mistake? I don't care if they add ALL the meh NPC armors to the CM for purchase, if it will make them a buck. Maybe somebody really likes that look and will pay extra to get it.....that person isn't me.. but maybe somebody.

If this means that they held back a better looking set to be released as a reward that players can earn by playing... THAT'S GREAT. Really...that's AWESOME. Becaused, based on new gear that has been added for subs in the last 6 months outside of the expac, this set could have been a reward from a reputation vender.

It's interesting... I'll give it that. Can't say that I feel like it really fits the art design for the rest of the game, or the IP for that matter. But, I am very relieved that it didn't turn out to be a recolor of the event mount.

At least it doesn't have a bunch of tiny bits and pieces floating around it like the NiM mount does. That might work ooooohkkay for something that's force themed. But, for a piece of tech, it's just not something any rational (and mathematically obsessive) species would design.

Thing is back in December we were told that we're gonna get iconic looks for each class. And Eric Musco said specifically that traditional Jedi robes are in plans some months ago. Instead we're getting highly unappealing items. So bad that they have their prices reduced by 50% after few weeks because no one buys them

Oh dear... for some strange reason it was really hard for me to turn that off once i started watching... must be the shiny glints coming off their outfits hypnotizing me or something.



OT: This is the most dissapointing outfit ive seen in the CM so far tho.
I havent had much problems with the other stuff, some of it has been a bit *meh* but still cool for the right character.
But this?
It just looks so underwhelming.
Like some said, it looks like something a poor person on hutta would wear...

But im sure its great for roleplaying.

I mean, i felt that the huttsbane outfit (booed and hissed at by alot of players) worked great for my cathar jedi from a frontier planet.
And its quite nice when recoloured too.

But this? Im not sure it will look good no matter what the colour is.

Thats the thing tho. Gree are supposed to be very different from the rest of the galaxy. They do things that make no sense to the rest of the galaxy, but thats ok.
I feel that the Gree is a way to introduce things that are a bit more "sci-fi" than what regular star wars is, and still make it fit in the world.
Making it CM and Reputation only items also ensures that they are rare enough.

When I saw "Turncoat's" in the Patch Notes last night, I got excited thinking they might finally release Malgus' armor (Sith Raider is not close enough). I was disappointed when I logged in earlier and saw what it really was. I think I may even have facepalmed. They really need to get some people with better appreciation of classic colors in their art department, the dye choices were questionable at best for 95% of them, the colors on this is just clownshoes.

Yeah, I agree... Gree takes tech in the lore in a bit of a different direction. Which frankly I am fine with. I don't go all nutzie for "it's gotta be iconic! where's my iconic gear?!"

I will probably get the speeder off the GTN as it is new design and pleasant to look at IMO. Hanging off the back of a badminten birdie with a build in high beam headlight might take a little getting used to though.

I actually do agree with this... it just... kinda water's down the SW in SWTOR. You know what I mean? It's not too bad. But I think the event mount would be a lot better if the etcha sketch traces on the shield canopy were about 10 times larger and less "dense" looking. And the new CM mount is sort of like the Virago.

But I'm a tradionalist old fart... and I feel like droidekas & the Virago did a pretty good job of watering down the IP all by themselves.

But the NiM mount....you've gotta admit...it's pretty out there.

In general I try to find the upside to everything, but even I was pretty let down on this one.
My opinion? Make some really cool sets, toss them on the cartel shop. 900 with a helmet seems more than fair.
Recolors of companion armor? Toss them into in game events or some such. Save the Scalene and cool sets for the cartel shop. People will sell them on the GTN, and others will buy them.
I have no problem dropping $10 on a set of adaptive armor I can use 1-55 that I absolutely love how it looks.
All the old, removed 50 sets? Toss those up! There's a couple I'd buy right now if they were!

The turncoat armor is just garbage. The devs and designers have spent little to no time on this at all. I logged on in excitement ready to buy something nice and was yet again staggered by the lack of effort on cartel armors. Waste of time and waste of opportunity for bw to make some money.

This isn't star wars. Its just sloppy.
