ETA on Advanced Class change?

In either case it doesn't support that class changes are going to occur.. In fact, it says the exact opposite.. Sure Bioware reserves the right to make changes to the game.. Duh.. But it also says that they are not discussing it and have no plans to implement right after launch.. It is a soft no..

I agree with you on it being muddled.
Of course the budget requirements to deliver unique story content for each class was going to be a restricting factor. I think I would have preferred to see the development go into a less linear story format but that horse has long since bolted.
What I can debate is the merits of whether an Advanced Class truly fits the distinction of being considered a fundamentally different class in its own right. TBH I don't think they are, well no more than Specialisations are fundamentally different.

I think the issue for me, and one that is largely a result of concentrating on story, is that to me as a Bounty hunter (Powertech) changing from tank to dps is a matter of focusing on a few different skills and changing the offhand from shield generator to power generator. In concept it is no different than focusing on a few different skills and changing the offhand generator to a weapon and making that jump between Powertech (tank) and Mercenary (healer). (Best case scenario, I of course realise that the secondry stats would also require a new set of armour, implants and possibly relics but you need to do similar when switching between certain specs as well)
There has been absolutely no impact to the characters story, no change in how their companions need to react to them.

It seems so artificial and arbitrary to place such a division between the Advanced Classes.

In your opinion.. I view it as a big change.. Others view it as a big change.. Yes this is all about opinion.. Which is why I bring up the game says no.. That much isn't opinion..

My point was if you're going to throw quotes around and beat us over the head with what the devs were saying in the beta stages it would pay to get the name of the most visual and outspoken developer of the time right

And forums are the place to discuss opinions and ideas that may be considered to improve the game in the future. The game says it is a Permanent choice at the moment, it may not always be the case though. Do you really need to have a list of all the things the devs have changed since release again?
