Changing your AC IS changing your class. Many people arguing to be able to change class simply refuse to acknowledge the devs statements and the fact that they see the AC's as different classes.

Changing AC's may not be going from juggernaut to powertech, but it is STILL changing classes in the eyes of the devs. They are the only ones that count, even if those who want to change their class wish it were otherwise.

You've put forward your opinion, I've yet to see any reliable proof that it would have any negative impact on those choosing not to change their AC. To be honest I would have thought the increase in player base brought about by SWTOR going F2P (and the resultant increase in players that don't know the MMO looting norms, how to play their advanced class) far outstrips any negative impact allowing AC swapping may or may not introduce.

Except for those pesky quotes from the devs that AC's are fundamentally DIFFERENT class designs and that they see AC's as DIFFERENT classes, that is.

And once again, those quotes from long gone Devs are superseded by more recent comments from Devs saying they will likely ADD AC swap at some point.

I'm playing the game the devs designed. You should try it sometime.

As I said, the reasons for not allowing class changes are valid, despite your dismissal of those reasons. Those reasons are every bit as valid as your reason for wanting class changes introduced into this game.

They are NOT the same, no matter how much you want to pretend they are.

What game do you think I'm playing Rat? I'm pretty sure we play the same game...maybe you don't?

And we agree...there ARE valid reasons to allow it. I'm glad to see you come around.

Those desiring class changes have not provided any proof that there will be no impact on those who do not change their class, only their claims that there will be no impact. Since class changes are not allowed, neither side can provide "proof" as to whether or not those changing class will provide any impact on those who do not change their class.

My proof is...

My class impacts ME only. How does my AC impact you Rat? You're ok with me rolling an alt, but there's an issue if I simply swap ACs? Oh yeah...you think there should be a punishment...and you think I'm lazy for not wanting to spend another month in front of a video game leveling a new alt...ironic actually.

I've acknowledged that quote many times. I've also noted that "likely happen" does not mean "will happen" and there is NO mention of any kind of time frame, nor has there been ANYTHING from the devs since that statement. I've also noted, as has LordArtemis, that the appearance and race changes mentioned in that quote have come to pass, and yet NOTHING from the devs regarding class change.

Does that quote that AC changes will likely happen say ANYTHING about the AC's not being different classes? It does NOT. That leaves the quotes from the devs regarding AC's being fundamentally DIFFERENT class designs and seen as DIFFERENT classes as the last word from the devs regarding AC's being DIFFERENT classes.
