That's the nature of the PvP quests (and WZs, really) in this game. Instead of rewarding players on individual kills, the developers have opted to reward players on objectives that they complete while under duress from enemy players. This is why you are being ganked, not due to the sadistic impulses you are perceiving among PvP players.
Yeah, sure. And when there is a group by the pylon, doing nothing just waiting, and attacking everyone that goes near, is just their way of finishing faster a quest. You know who you can tell that tale...to a kid maybe...

Meh, when I'm in an open-world PvP area, and I see someone of the opposing faction, I attack them. Unless, of course, they're significantly under-leveld, or I'm in a group and they are solo.

Some people think its fun to "gank" people. As it isn't against the rules, not prohibited in any way, and explicitly allowed -- not worth complaining about. It makes you look less mature.

What if the guys waiting at the pylon are waiting for the bonus boss to respawn? What if they've seen it spawn and had enemy players flag it as their own so they can't get the bonus quest done until it respawns again? What if they've learned that the only way to actually finish that quest is to wipe that area of enemy players until the boss spawns? I've done these things because I've been cheated out of that quest in particular before.

What I do wonder, however, is why these arguments are so often repeated.
Because the people that don't like getting attacked in the pvp area want a change for those 2 quests.... and they don't understand why it isn't changed... no matter how many hundreds of times people tell them that going in there is voluntary, and it even warns them IN BIG BOLD RED TEXT across the screen that they are about to be flagged.
They ignore that warning, then come to the forums to complain about it.
They are of the mentality that if they keep asking for something, no matter how many times they are told "no".. the devs will eventually give in to shut them up. And that is wrong.
They just need to accept the consequences for their actions, and move on.
Don't like getting attacked in the pvp area?? Don't.... go.....in....there!

So just let's kill everybody in preemtive self defence? Really?

Someone was mean to you, and that gives you the right to be mean as well. Interesting philosophy...

Yes. In the PvP area. Really.

You really don't need to do the [PvP] quests, your helix components come from the [HEROIC] quest that can be done in the non-PvP area. Anyone whining about PvP in a PvP area should probably just do the PvE quests instead (which there are many more of than [PvP] quests).
Actually, what I have referred to is the band of PVPers that meander around the PVE area. They dance around in your fire on a PVE objective (champ/boss) or wait for you to do an AOE attack on a group of bots at the stations they see this and jump into it. Thereby making you flagged for PVP, even if you never intended. Than this meandering hoard swarms on you and now your PVE quests are over, no way you can defeat 4 to 6 PVP players vs you.. You normally have to leave the PVE party your with, go back to a neutral area and wait for the PVP flag to drop. I have lost sooooo much of my gaming time in this exact scenario. More than once I have logged off for the night. No more time available to waste. Many, many times our PVE party has had to change instances to avoid the gankers. No and I do not go into the Gree PVP area. Have not since the first week. Avoid it like the plague. I am on a PVE server for a reason.

However i must say I do at times enjoy PVP matches through the group finder (War Zones). These are at least more balanced, these are a challenge that is worthy of my time. I fail to see how these meandering groups of gankers consider what they do a challenge. Their only reward must come from destroying the gaming time of fellow players.

The community has declared shenanigans on the slot machine nerf.
Do you accept these charges of shenanigans?

I just don't see any point in repeating an argument over and over again in that manner.
I assume that there should be far more arguments available to these posters, so that they wouldn't need to reapeat them so often.

Can anyone here give me as reason for this repeat ?

Alrik
Simple.
Because that's the truth. Not everything in life is a conundrum. Some things are better explained when the answers are kept simple.

So, if your question is "why do people grief?" then the answer is as easy as it gets: because they can and because it's what they consider fun.

Regardless of whether you consider that moral or acceptable, this is the answer you are looking for. if you put aside your personal views on the subject, you will realize that people cannot offer you much more meaningful answers because...there are no meaningful answers to give.

They consider it fun, the game allows (and encourages) you to do it, so they do it.

I'm curious as to why would you think there are more answers that people are not sharing.

THAT is griefing. And, if I'm not mistaken -- an actionable offense. I would highly recommend reporting people you see doing that.

I do recall someone on our server being banned permanently for doing this. He would follow people around stealthed + flagged (PvE server), and the second they did an AoE attack, he would run into it, forcibly flag the other player, and kill them.

I'm pretty sure BW has even stated that finding a way to force a player to duel or flag for PvP (aside from being in a WZ or PvP area) is strickly prohibited. And I agree that it should be.

Re-enable Bolster for 50+ players. A fairer fight is all most PVE players want.
