It's not just on the forums. I've never been banned but I got a warning one time. I put in 3 or 4 tickets asking for details as to what I did to receive the warning. They copied and pasted a line out of the ToS that was extremely vague and didn't answer my request at all and threatened with a ban if I kept pushing the issue. If people are receiving warnings/bans they have every right to be told (even if privately) exactly what they did to receive it. If it honestly was an accident (like in my case) how else can you change the behavior to not do it again?? duh.. I support the poster above this pursing legal course if there is a case cause I've always felt that practice is extremely wrong.

I'm sure they will do as they've done before, and award any lost gametime to those who were IMPROPERLY banned. If you were banned for something considered an exploit, you have no legal recourse.

Believe it or not, I GUARANTEE they have a time-frame in which it is acceptible to offer a FULL explanation as to what is going on. By limiting this information, they limit the number of people who can continue to use this exploit.
Didn't say they had to discuss it, just point out the section in the TOS which covers the practice to be illegal and a breach of the TOS.

If there is none, they are liable. As a provider of an online service, they are not allowed to deny service to a paying customer if there is no breach of the TOS as it was, when the alleged breach occured.

I have not been subject to Biowares banning streak, but this seems as a case of "cant avoid a ban because it isnt explained as a bannable offense" at this point.

I'd like to chime in on this.

Let's assume for a moment that the majority of folks transferring crystals around their account like they always have were not willfully breaking the TOS. That is not a suggestion that they were being dishonest, simply a point to make to move further on in this post...

If this was a mechanic that was well known to the devs, even commented on, and if it was also reported before hand and did not receive a response then i think the only logical thing to do, to save face would be to remove bans for this specific action.

They should then follow that up with a clear "Dos and Donts" type post with respect to collections.

I would say one thing...it is pretty clear that any attempt to avoid paying Cartel Coins, short of buying an item on the GTN or unlocking it with the legacy system for credits will be considered an economic exploit from this point forward.

Buyer beware.

Mind you that cartel coin unlock provided crystals for the entire account. Considering the amount of hours required to get a legacy weapon one could also assume that coins are the lazy option or account-wide unlock. TOR is not meant to be pay to win, isn't it? I don't know if someone got banned for spawning star ship upgrades which could also be bought through cartel coins.

As it should be. They added a NEW feature, require you to pay CCs for it, and people are circumventing that.

THEY, however, should've fixed this issue when it was originally reported a week ago -- and in all honesty should've caught this ahead of time.

I hope people in the EU bring up lawsuits against every company that has ever existed then.

EVERY line of the ToS is vague. It gives them the right to judge based on intended and unintended things that happen. They are not required to outline, in detail, every bannable offense, and allow people to get away with anything that isn't explicitly discussed in the ToS.

Reverse-engineering player made schematics appears to be far more dodgy and no one sat for it. That was a serious economic stuff.

Considering the minor detail, that you cannot spawn starship upgrades even if you unlocked 100% of them, I doubt that anyone was banned for doing it
(When you got the collection, there is still a little text on that item reading something like "copies of these items are unavailable")

If it were possible, I would have replicated the startship equipment, which I got on my republic main to also have it on my imperial twink.

Didn't effect the CM and their income so Bioware didn't give a ****.
