agreed. if they were bugged they should have been fixed ages ago. the original toys were released back in 1.5. This was never put as a known issue for over 7 months and thus should not be attributed to a bug!

So was there anything directly purchasable in the CM that was unbound? I can't remember and never tested it. For example, could you use the Carbonite chamber and then mail it to an alt? Because if we're talking about the holostatues, ball toss, etc. then you didn't directly purchase those items. You either got them in packs or you bought them off the GTN. Nobody bought 50 packs to get the Revan holostatue....when you could buy it off the GTN for the credits you could make from selling 1 pack....or at least no one with any common sense did that, lol.

The reality is they should have always been bind on use. You all know this... you were just jazzed the they messed it up in the first place so you could pass the toys around from character to character like a they were a cheap call girl.

They changed it to bind on use. You can easily unlock and clone then across your ENTIRE ACCOUNT FOREVER if you want multiples.

This is an MMO.. things not intended or that intention changes when the game changes results in items changing too. You all know this as well if you are MMO players... so that brings us back to the bad analogy about a cheap call girl.

And Alec..Mr "I've got tens of millions of credits"... is the last person to take seriously about having to buy something multiple times off the GTN. You can buy all you want and never make use of the unlock feature if you are credit rich and coin stingy.
sayonara SWTOR. I will miss the game, I will miss many players, I will NOT miss being lied to and deceived. I will not miss rookie level mistakes of epic proportions.

Maybe they should have been bind on use all along. I too was surprised that they were not.

But they've had months to fix that.

And they've continued to release new toys that were not bind use.

There was no indication that these items would become bind on use.

You can not say that it was accidental that up until this patch these items were not intended to work the way that they did.

You could say that it was intentional that they did not bind - what use is a holotrainer to a character at the level cap?

I continue to see your anger on these vanity issues and it really baffles me. Seriously, you're blowing this way too out of proportion when you can send your alt the same toy that costs probably 50k credits for something they will have permanently in the game.

Are you seriously creating 12 alts on a server and leveling them up all the time and need to have all your toys flying around you? I somehow doubt that. If it's really true, then pony up the credz, but, as stated before, it wouldn't be fair for someone to get a toy post 2.1 that's stuck to one character while someone else can transfer their toy, freely.
Then they should have fixed it the first time. This retroactive, "Sorry, but we need more cash from you guys, so we're changing the way the stuff you already bought for real cash works so you have to buy more of it" is for the BIRDS.

If they aren't fully into bait-and-switch tactics, they're certainly damned close.

I spent the cash on these items and others knowing that I could never get it back, just like a bankroll when I walk into a casino. But this crap is pathetic. The bean counters are completely ruining this game and the (already questonable/minimal) faith that players (at least some of us who are watching and cognizant of exactly WHAT is happening here) had in the developers.

6 days left. I don't even really care anymore. I just feel sorry for the people who will keep playing, and watch as their already-purchased items are now retconned into much less a valuable item.

It doesn't matter if they're just toys. They should have hired some competent forward-thinking balancing staff when they started charging real money for this crap. Obviously they're flying by the seat of their pants, and expect a continuous stream of "Sorry, but here's why we had to goose you up the crack again" explanations is going to make up for it.

I've been on your side in a lot of these arguments... but sometimes, your endless capacity to excuse anything and everything this company does in favor of almost always blaming PLAYERS for their anger really does make me wonder sometimes...

Nope. They're taking the old school approach. Just ignore it and it will go away.
