It's a good thing you don't have to pay cartel coins for gear customization then.

SWTOR was a P2P game and now it is F2P. It is a different business models, how to make money.

P2P games develop new periodic content for subscribers, like new warzones, flashpoints, operations, dailies, so that players will continue their subscription.

F2P games develop new periodic content that cost real world money, or game currency that cost real world money., so that player will continue to spend money on those things.

SWTOR is no longer P2P game, it is F2P, so why do people continue their subscription? If they want new content they should buy cartel points instead. This is how how you get new content in F2P games.

By the way i also played the beta, and pre-ordered digital deluxe edition, also paid for subscription before, I would also prefer if it continued to be P2P, but unfortunately it isn't anymore. It is important to deal with the fact. You want new content? Buy cartel points, not a subscription.

Oh dear I can't buy my cat people and can't get my character a new haircut, I can't live with this happening.

Gonna shoot myself in the head for this and bioware will have me on my conscience forever.

Or maybe if I'm so desperate about I can give up a couple of beers and spend the money on the coins needed for said unlock.

If this is the reaction to some pixel cat-people I don't wanna know how you boys and girls react in REAL WORLD problems.

In a nutshell? snap out of it

WOW is sub only..

SWTOR is F2P and sub..

That fact kind of makes a difference don't you think??

I dont think there should be a difference between sub's and F2P'ers, like this:: (fair for all)

- You want to change minor stuff like hairstyle, beards, tatoos, jewelry and scars = ingame credits! (done directly at the kiosk)

- You want to change basic physical appearance attributes like gender, skintone, body shape and eye-color = Cartel Coins! (one package that opens up the character creation for a specifik character so you can change everything again).

That way, if you want to change your character in an extreme way, you buy the CM packet. Othewise, its just minor things you can adjust when getting new gear (some hairstyles/beards just works better in different gear). Might as well throw in a Name Change as well with the packet.

I know I will probably get flamed for saying this, and I'm not defending EAWare in any way, on the contrary, I've been very critical (still am) of SWTOR.

BUT... I'm actually happy that I finally have something I WANT to spend my 600 "free" monthly cartel coins on. I can't count how many characters I've deleted since launch because there's no "barber shop" and because they got boring to look at as the months ticked by. I care very little about pets, vehicles, fireworks and most other "fluff". I wasn't born under a lucky star either, so I never buy those cartel packs, which leaves me with very little to spend my coins on.

For me at least (and yes, I realize that most people will disagree) this move by EAWare is a win-win.

They know its the subscribers who are buying the cartel coins not the F2P players.

Lets face it someone who is going to take an xp nerf and walk for so many levels rather than spend £2.99 on prefered status and a beginners bundle is not going to drop real life money on changing race etc.
They know subscriers will.

Who do you think is buying all the hypercrates the guys who are to cheap to pay for basic features I really doubt it.

If the subs could controll spending cartel coins, they would have to adjust the market to get FTP players spending not target the subscribers, but that is just not going to happen.
If anyone is to blame its the subs buying coins, I am glad of my free coins and will continue to use only them I suggest others unhappy with costs for subs do the same.

I'm fine with Cathar and stuff being CC only as long as there are some featuers that are free for subscribers included as well. should be at least 50% from all features in every update IMO.

That isn't what Black was talking about. You can try to change what Black said and argue against that, but that just means you're arguing with yourself. And there's a therapy for that.
