Bioware meant there OWN quality of life improvements. As in...More money for them via cartel market.

Dont kid yourself. they have no intentions of fixing ****. just reskinning old crap to sell you. or turning on pre-exsisting race options for characters that didn't choose those options...and calling it content.

Again ... you don't have to pay for any of this. You can get it all for in-game currency if you like. This is what FTP is. It's how games work and run and are perpetuated in that kind of revenue system. I think they're doing a fantastic job adding new content and fixing broken elements. There are a whole slew of bug fixes coming with 2.1 so to say they're not fixing anything is an out and out lie.

Funny -- first patch after RotHC included nothing but a MASSIVE amount of bug fixes and updates. And, considering we don't have patch notes for 2.1 yet -- there could be just as many bug fixes as CM additions.

And, what the hell are you talking about with pre-existing race options?

Op has already stated it in a few different ways, but it bears repeating:

We ahve yet to actually get patch notes. the blog was a blog about the patch, nothing more. It highlighted what the Dev's though would attract and excite people about the incoming patch. It wasn't meant to be an itinerary of what is in the patch.

Until the PTR is open and we see that actual PATCH notes, we won't know for sure. but on the flip side, there's nothign wrong with making sure were holding them to things, and reminding them of issues that are glaringly frustrating for players and need to be fixed.

Like the skill delay issue. I want to punch a kitten everytime it happens now. it really bugs me. I realize that it has got to be a much deeper issue then a few database additions, but it still ranks top on my list of "really really need to fix).

Love the cather coming in, and totally jazzed about being able to re-configure my character. Cmon, lets get those bug fixes goin too!

I made this post WAY before Eric's post.

Everything I've seen mentioned is a fix of something they broke in 2.0, something they didn't know would happen (or, worse, DID) when Jeff made his blog post back in March and require immediate attention.

On the side, it's pretty bad that 5 weeks is the immediate we've become accustomed to, too. I had this problem with them back before 1.2. They released 1.2 on the test server 5 weeks before release and there were an immense number of problem fixes from launch that were in the PTS patch notes. However, instead of knowing the problem, having a fix in place, and then implementing the fix when available (and even tested by free labor on the test server), they sandbagged them for over a month. Then, they market 1.2 as the 'biggest MMO patch ever.' Not the best practice either in my opinion.

He never said that it WOULDN'T cost Cartel Coins, just that it was coming. It is coming and you don't even know what is coming in the 2.2 in a month. Just like so many before, you want to create problems where there are none. QoL improvements are by definition, cosmetic. It is well known that cosmetic items will cost CC.

Why are you shocked, incensed, or surprised?
It's amazing how loud a dollar can be.

Error. SwTor is not only a MMO, is a MMO Role Playing Game. Same than Character Creation and a name is the first thing you MUST complete when starting a new toon, a Barber Shop is not a feature, is a CORE FEATURE cos this is a RPG. The same that changing your armor apperance is a CORE feature even if has not impact in the game like you say cos youre using the same mods and the stats doesnt change at all.

Look, Bioware is not idiot and knows they will earn a lot of money with this. Even when they are slapping in the face of the subcribers. They also know this and it is cos Eric came with the crap about 2.2 and blablabla. And they know that a Barber Shop should be out of CCs. And a Barber Shop is not about changing race or sex. If you wanna be a Cathar or not a human anymore being a Twilek, is ok and you must pay money for it but NEVER if wanna change your hair style or colour.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. The entitlement generation needs to figure that out. You get something for free and then complain about that it's not what you wanted.

If you are a sub this is the reality of all of those people who pissed and moaned and left in droves. Those of us that stuck with it have to deal with this being a F2P game 1st and foremost and hope they give us enough to make it worthwhile.

Entitlement + Instant Gratification=The demise of the world as we know it.

I have a very bad feeling that most customization outside of what we already have will be Real-Money transactions only. This will make me very sad as a subscriber, as I already give them real money.

The fact that they said "we won't charge for story content, only customization" seems to be the "out" that everyone is using... but what about just taking issue with that on it's own? BioWare/EA, WHY are you charging real money only for appearance changes, and race unlocks (especially to subscribers)? Then they act benevolent because they will give a "discount" (UP TO 50% on "Some" things, which means don't hold your breath for great discounts) on these non-impacting features... so good news, if you're a subscriber, you only have to give us less money for cool new content going forward.

Look, if you want to make money, just flat out remove the subscription option. Make it an ACTUAL Free2Play game and charge us up the wazoo for everything (like other EA ventures), but at least be honest about it. I feel strung along as a sub... every new thing they announce will be "cheaper for subscribers." This literally equates to "paying for a discount." This does not grant us appearance changes, it allows us to pay less for them, plus $15 a month.

I get this is a business... but it can also be a fair business. If you run a fair business, people will flock to it, and you will get more business. If you run an unfair business, people will hold polls on "worst company in the world" and you will be on it.
Excellent post.

As far as I know the only major bug issue they are fixing involves Bolster augment exploit.
I'd also like to mention that armor dyes via cartel market are pretty lame. It almost feels like they are denying subscribers something that should be available for in game credits or drops. I expect everything will be cartel market eventually at this pace we already have p2w space...incoming p2play cathar...p2p armor with the colors you want...whats next p2p with the mods/enhancements you want?
