I'm getting the same on The Bastion. Traceroute shows latency increasing dramatically past vantagedatacenters-gw.customer.alter.net.

Laggy mess, started today. Ping is at 50, but is constantly spiking well into the thousands. Ping was normally 25~ before today. Other guildmates are having the same issue. Also Comcast customers.

I really feel sorry for you guys and myself. Almost 24 hours since the patch and the problem persists. If you take your time and read the CS board you will find out many more people are having the same issue across different servers. I'll go ahead and ask you guys to create an in game ticket if you have not yet done so. Let's hope they fix it on their end.

Like i have stated before, this issue has been going on since 1.73a and the fact that ALL of you are in the same boat per'se makes me wonder if bioware/EA is really looking into this. I have ran traceroutes, i have ran a trace using network-tools, pingplotter, etc etc etc.......I have reboot my modem and comp countless times, uninstalled my AV and disabled my firewall just to see if it will work. NOTHING. All my trace routes seem to be fine, ping plotter has 0 packet loss and my internet connection is all good. I have put in countless tickets and all i have gotten is the stupid idiotic droid message. I even called CS and they told me to get a new ISP (which i cannot cause of the area I live in) and was very rude on the phone. If this continues, I have no choice but to delete my account. Also have reinstalled and uninstalled the game like 5 times. all with the same results. this is crap. I lost out on my early access and now i cant even play the game 5 mins without my MS going into the thousands.

and yes, I AM PISSED!

thats not good that you are opening your pc to attacks. the longer this go's on for the more i want disney to step in and say to EA your giving star wars a bad name and you need to lift your game.

Dont feel bad. I am on the Shadowlands server. I was away from the game for 6 months or so and came back. I crashed about 13 times in Makeb within 2 hours. My internet connection was fine. They need to fix the issue.

im not worried about my computer being open to attacks. I f i need to i could always enable my AV and firewall and run scans. what im worried about is if Bioware/EA gives a damn about this issue.

Well I can tell you from previous experience that EA does NOT care about this issue. I played Medal of Honor Allied Assault when it came out for the PC over 10 years ago. This was and still is the best MOH game that EA ever created or probably ever will. I mean, that game gave birth to COD and everything to follow after it!

Guess what? EA would not support adding a anticheat program for this game, even though the community made it clear that they wanted EA to step in and add Punkbuster support. EA said no. The community created its own anti cheat solutions and, while not totally successful, they blunted the cheating on the game. Bottom line, don't expect EA to do anything about this issue.

Laggy mess again today. These routing issues seem to take a week or more for them to figure out, and they seem to pop up every couple of months. On the off chance that anyone bothers to read these customer service threads:

Code:
Tracing route to 159.153.69.58 over a maximum of 30 hops

  1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms
  2 48 ms 28 ms 40 ms
  3 25 ms 8 ms 9 ms te-8-3-ur01.clovis.ca.ccal.comcast.net [68.85.105.133]
  4 11 ms 9 ms 10 ms xe-4-0-1-ar01.fresno.ca.ccal.comcast.net [68.85.120.245]
  5 31 ms 84 ms 50 ms pos-3-6-0-0-cr01.losangeles.ca.ibone.comcast.net [68.86.92.205]

  8 51 ms 47 ms 44 ms 64.86.252.98
  9 43 ms 42 ms 42 ms 0.ge-7-1-0.XT1.SCL2.ALTER.NET [152.63.48.253]
 10 47 ms 47 ms 47 ms TenGigE0-6-0-0.GW5.SCL2.ALTER.NET [152.63.56.2]
 11 44 ms * 43 ms vantagedatacenters-gw.customer.alter.net [152.179.99.218]
 12 44 ms 43 ms 45 ms 159.153.68.42
 13 43 ms 43 ms 43 ms 159.153.69.58

Trace complete.
One of the routers along the route is clearly being overwhelmed and isn't working. Playing in the morning or real early afternoon doesn't produce these results, presumably because the load isn't as bad.
