What's up with the Empire seeming to become less anti-alien?!

Is BW just changing lore to show off what they want people to buyon the market?
"It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more...than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so *********** what." - Stephen Fry

Maybe they are just fixing that dumb idea. I get it the Sith are evil, have a militant force power oligarchy who murder people for fun sells it just fine. Macking them racist is just stupid, so am glade if that goes.

We just need more aliens to cooperate willingly to win the war. When that happens, they go back to slavery again.

Play belsavis on the empire side I am not surprised that some cathar signed up.

You have a general quest for the empire where the republic kidnapped and imprisoned a prince of the cathar who was against his people joining the republic and of course your empire character springs him and his followers out.

The empire then escorted him back to his planet and he said he will let his people know what the republic did to him and hence you see the cathar there during makeb. Well this is what I think.

Plus there are many sith npc's who say they should take in aliens. Darth jadus, Darth Marr and Darth malgus. Heck even Darth baras was getting annoyed with tremel cause he was QQ over the new sith rules that anyone who is force sensitive can be sith.

So I think he does not care for race/blood either.
You have seen it, you have felt it within you as you have traveled with me. The growing anger, the rage, and the power it brings. Yet the power does not build without struggle. Through small cruelties greater ones are born. Kriea/Darth Traya

If you do the actual Ilum-based story quests around the Flashpoints Battle of Ilum and False Emperor -- i.e., have the briefings with the Imperials before and after --

Spoiler

I'm sure plenty of the Imperials and Sith still don't care much for aliens on a personal level, but as far as strategic advantages, at this point I imagine they'll take what they can get.
Ebon Hawk * The Thirteenth Legion * RP/Social/Casual
Kjara | Avidior | Mizret | Ysmena
Forging Fortune * Aviditas

Yup even in the flashpoint malgus said even if he loses or wins the empire will change/be reborn.

The Empire/Sith being racist always seemed a bit silly to me, and seems more like it was shoved in just in case we might forget they were the 'bad guys'.

I mean, the only reason the Dark Jedi who came to Korriban survived was by interbreeding with the Sith, you know, the alien Sith? Particularly given that humans/Sith have no particular monopoly on the use of the Dark Side.

It's also amusing to note that the overwhelming majority of slaves we see in game are human.

The same reason they started allowing non-human/pureblood sith into the Korriban academy prior to The Old Republic starting - they need them to not get crushed by the Republic. I imagine being literally weeks away from total defeat at the start of the Makeb storyline is pretty decent motivation.

I mean seriously, the backstory is all about how the Empire, racist and xenophobic and all, was handily giving the Republic what for, then 10 years after a peace that was on their terms, they're magically suddenly completely incompetent and helpless and doomed, Doomed, DOOMED!!! at every turn. Unless of course they give up their evil ways.
