Do you need to be looking at the passer to receive the ball? Can I receive it if I'm facing the complete opposite direction the pass comes from?

 

Haven't had the presence of mind to test this in game yet. Anyone know the answer off hand?

You do not have to be facing any specific direction . It is always smoother to catch passes on the run.

I've even done some Kareem Abdul Jabbar stuff in the pit underneath the goal line. If you position the mouse right, you can be underneath the catwalk, and get it up to someone. I did it out of desperation one time, not knowing if a teammate was there.

officially, the ball is supposed to go to the person closest to the middle of the landing circle with preference given to un-mezz'd (and presumably un-stunned) characters. in reality...there's too much lag for that kind of finery. and even though force leaps don't mezz or stun, the leaper always seems to be awarded the interception. so take it with a grain of salt. the software/hardware and bandwidth capabilities of the game impact things more than the 2 meters you are from center on your screen.

 

and yeah...facing the ball has no impact.
