If u can get it on video.. show us 1 or 2 attempts. With G7 gear this missions are easy as hell.
Once i see a new post about " uhuh Heroic space is impossible and to hard" i only get in mind.. this guy crushes into asteroids or crates all the time or this couldnt be true.

Maybe its really lag on a few machines but for the rest.. if u can get it on video.. upload and link it into this chat so ppl
can help and suggest whats going wrong
This is a good idea. With a vid of what you're doing we could pin point what's going wrong for you. Are you using the A S W D keys along with the mouse when you're in open areas?

The lasers are not heat seeking as some have said. They track you yes. Stay in one position then pop up to another part of the screen and you'll see they'll still be firing at your last position, then pop to another part of the screen. They'll be one step behind you. When the small fighters are coming at you fire at them but use the A S D and W keys to go in a circle while you control your reticle with the mouse. You won't get hit nearly as much as some have alluded to.

Nobody expects someone new to these missions to get them on the first or second shot. It took me about 4-6 tries to beat Cha Raaba. Then, it took me another 2-3 times when I was first getting used to it to beat it. Now, I can beat it regularly. Don't give up, keep plugging away. Get us a vid, and we can give you more advice then the general stuff.

A few things:

Thanks to everyone who has been encouraging and supportive. I really do appreciate it and its pushed me to keep trying despite failing more often than not. I actually just completed Lorta Escort by the skin of my teeth, but am getting the hang of that one at least.

As far as what I'm doing wrong...I keep seeing that I need to use my keys to move while my mouse to aim and fire. The problem is, when I move my mouse, the ship moves int hat direction as well, contradicting where I want to go with my keys, is there a way to shut that off? Is that working as intended?

Also, to BanthaRaider, I used to be a member of LXB back in the day in SWG, I know they're on PUB side now, but did the guild reconstitute on IMP?

EDIT: Completed Mission was Lorta Escort not Duma Strike...

You'll get there OP. Lorta was the first one i completed successfully too, and it was by the skin of my teeth. Now I have all 6 missions on farm and run them weekly on 6 different toons (yes, I know, I am more than a little crazy).

That said, I believe the most important thing to know about these missions is that they take a lot of PRACTICE. Practice, practice, practice, and you will find that eventually you have them all down.

Good luck and happy hunting!!!

PS That is working as intended. If you use arrow keys to move, when you aim with your mouse you will get a certain amount of cancellation of your efforts to move. I know many people use the arrow keys, and that works for them. I use only the mouse, and that works fine for me. Again, as I said above, it just takes a lot of practice. Once you get them on farm, it's really quite rewarding. I'm extremely glad they have added these missions to the game, and I look forward to them hopefully adding more in the future.

It's WAI. The mouse targeting determines your "base" position; the keyboard input determines your position relative to your "base" position, as determined by your targeting reticule. Using the mouse to aim and your keyboard to move around (most often, I just do big circles) allows you to maintain fire on a target while still avoiding incoming fire. It's not really needed for the non-heroic missions, but, on the heroic missions it's pretty much required: if you're not moving while there are enemies on the screen, you're taking a lot of damage that you're supposed avoid through dodging, and, if you're not focusing blaster and missile fire on you enemies, you're not going to take enough of them out to finish.

people that struggle with these should get fraps or something and post some videos of there attemtps

just posting text is difficult to respond to, these missions are so incredibly easy, it's hard to believe people struggle with them at all. With a video it would be much easier to help you

The video suggestion really is great, i just don't know how to record ingame video, if I did I'd definitely post the failures I've had to get corrections. I've tweaked my strategy a bit and tried moving around the screen in large circles, I'm also pinpointing exactly when to fire the EMP and Electronic Warfare.

Even with these tweaks I've only barely managed to complete a few of the missions. The aforementioned Lorta Escort, and now Kanz Minefield (this took me nearly 20+ tries...and I still barely beat it) and Cha Raaba Assault.

I guess the key is to continue practicing until I have it all down pat...

Ill have to try that, spamming spacebar and moving the ship in a circle pattern is getting ridiculous.

Wow...I had no idea you could do that. I just use my mouse and proper timing of shield regen vs. blaster boost. I'll have to try this, but usually I do just fine using only a mouse.

There's only once place I find keypad movement helpful--the bombers on the Station Defense mission. The move-and-aim combo lets you burn them down with guns only without taking much damage. Makes the later part much easier.

Everywhere else, mouse movement alone is plenty.

Incidentally, I found a far superior approach to the Station Assault than what I had been using before. If you completely destroy the first frigate at the beginning of the mission and then take out all the high position satellites before the sith/jedi ship first shows up, then you get a free, easy look at a torpedo shot on the comm array you wouldn't otherwise get. Very helpful; makes the whole mission a snap. Like the lower level station assaults, you end up flying around waiting to drop off one last torpedo at the end of the mission (the bridge of the captial ship in this case).
