Hmmm ...

Beat me to it, Lady, but just to reiterate for Eillack:

I have a CE and quite frankly, if I bought it because of the in-game vendor, that would make me a complete moron. You see, I bought the CE because of the nice stuff I could see was included in the box:

Security Key (the most practical in my view)
Music CD (probably one of my biggest reasons for getting it - exclusive music)
Darth Malgus statue (would of preferred Satele, but it still makes a nice bookend with my Skyriim dragon)
Journal of Master Gnost-Dural (cause an actual physical book I can hold in my hands and look at the pretty pictures is still pretty cool)
Disks in Metal Case (Well, it seems to be the standard in CE versions of games nowadays)
Longspur STAP and VIP bracelet (the only digital items I was interested in, even though they are also part of the digital upgrade pack). They are the most useful digital items for me.

You see, having exclusive access to the vendors, whether it be the Security Key, VIP, or the CE vendors was nice, but ultimately useless in the decision to buy the CE. I like customizing my characters and having useful items for them to wear and use. Without any prior knowledge of what would be on these vendors or even if I would like the look of any of it, it would have been completely stupid of me to base such a purchase decision on something sight unseen. So the fact that the vendors have not been updated is hardly of any consequence to me - again there is no guarantee that I would like anything that would ever be on these vendors or find any of it more useful than anything else in the game, so I ultimately based my purchased decision on what I knew I was getting and the value of that to me was more than enough to justify the cost.

So, to be honest, as a CE owner, I would rather they just leave the vendors as is and put more of the effort in creating art assets into quests and missions in the game (with a few saved for the CM to continue to help fund the game).

I pre-ordered a CE the first day I could.
Here's why:

$60 base game
$70-$90 statue as part of the box.

That's $130-$150 right there, and as we all know the CE cost $150 (USD).

Everything else in the box was basically a bonus.

I don't actually remember what was promised regarding updates for the CE vendors, but I do know I was VERY dissapointed by the lack of items on the CE vendors at launch. If, now, well over a year later, they're going to start making up for it, so much the better.

if not, it'll be something I continue to ignore.

The armor should be buy able in the cartel store for like 20 bucks

The game was 60 bucks Before but now you can just upload it for the site for free, so every loses a little bit
Really we all paid for the game for early access and because we were excited

The CE did include a statue and cool box And some map or book thing, music cd also I believe
It's. a CE and its that fluff that matters

I disagree. Part of the point to buying a CE, certainly this particular CE, was to have SOMETHING, in game, that set you apart from the players who didn't. The CE vendor was supposed to be that way.

Even in SWG there was a CE version of the game that gave you 3 pair of "goggles" that you could wear if you wanted to. Those 3 pair of goggles were never added to "general population" for the entire 8.5 years of the game. The CE vendor, and the items on it, should be held to the same standard in my opinion.

Part of that fluff is things like the imperial armor on the CE vendor.

Well, besides the droid, the unique companion customizations, and two sets of armor? I guess that does, I mean.

On the other-hand, in response to your CE-dongles-Staying-CE argument, I would further put forth evidence of my Zergling and Mini-Diablo pets from the WarCraft collector's Edition in 2004.

Well, I've been following SWTOR since well before it's Beta and release. I don't have perfect memory by a long shot, but I honestly don't recall any specifics to the effect of "promising regular updates," that a couple folks here seem to quote as gospel. Sure be nice if there were some concrete evidence of that, since it seems to be the holy grail of the CE owner's complaints.

I have no problem with CE Owners in general. I do get tired of this constant interjection of "But you promised regular updates," and endless complaints for more exclusive content.

I think if you look around, you'll see that no other company gives out "perpetual ongoing" bonuses to purchasers of special editions. And why would they? People who buy them pay a ONE TIME extra fee for some added features. It's not financially feasible to continually develop new content for a tiny percentage of your user base that isn't even contributing any further to your revenue for said content.

You buy a special edition. You get some extras. That's fine, that's great. I've got no problem with that, no problem with you. But to expect extra content in perpetuity while the game is overall short on delivering content to ALL of it's players/subscribers? I've never seen these promises a few claim exist, but that doesn't even acknowledge all the boats that sailed when EA dumped most of the dev team and went F2P.

From the horses mouth:

http://www.swtor.com/info/news/news-article/20111021

That includes this quote:

Collector’s Edition Store. At launch the Collector’s Edition Store will be available to those who have the Collector’s Edition of The Old Republic, and will feature items found nowhere else in the game! The Collector’s Edition will be stocked with exclusive social items for yourself, and unique appearances for your companion. The store will also have regular updates to give players incentive to keep coming back.

I am not clamoring for the CE vendor to be updated, just pointing out that EA/BW did state that it would be updated regularly. I personally just want to see the CE vendor and the items he sells remain exclusive to CE owners.

The only complaint against CE owners I have is the attempt to create a CE only guild, but since I don't guild anymore it didn't bother that much. Nobody else is even talking about the collecter's edition, besides you can upgrade at any time.
