On the bright side, maybe we'll see less "Revan's Chest Plate" since it costs more to repair than non-crafted gear.

For those under 50, you pay significantly more for repairs using the cartel market gear.
Ouch, i bet a lot pve'ers using cartel shells.

It is quite costly to swap mods + new augments to crafted orange shells (non CM). I'm hoping Bioware will acknowledge mistake at least and fix it tomorrow.
I have a feeling they wont admit mistake and silently adjust it.

I will say this. Video games have a business side as well as the creative side. This is necessary to function and only time will tell what the future of the game is.

Some new data:

Social gear appears to offer the lowest repair cost solution for pre-50's. Just tested slave girl bottoms (social II) on my sorc healer. All mods were ripped out. Damage taken to durability was 70/80.

Cost to sell to vendor: 30 credits

Cost to repair: 3 credits

This is a lower repair bill than even the low lvl orange crafted shell I tested, although that was on my tank and the damage figures were different, so caution has to be used in the interpretation. Nevertheless, very low repair bill under any interpretation.

One issue is that you will have to do some social fp or heroic runs to obtain the necessary social points to unlock these items. Still, a good option for those who don't want to run in ugly orange for the entire storyline.

The new "fixed" repair costs are absolutely absurd. To the point of it no longer being fun to teach/test/help anyone in FPs or Ops. We just wiped 5-6 times doing HM Lost Island (had a Sorc who while well intended wasn't quite geared or experienced enough) and yeah, that was well over 100k, meaning all of the work I'd done doing dailies this afternoon was for naught.

I would like to not be cynical and assume it's a $$ grab from BW/EA but there's certainly something to be said for the concept that if there are less available creds in the market as a whole, customers will be more likely to break down and buy Cartel items. I genuinely hope they address this "fix" with a (lower) adjustment of the repair prices ASAP, or I will likely not be renewing after this coming 2 months (I will give them a LITTLE time to do so).

I'm super frustrated, by this, just as I finally gear my 50 half-decently (by no means BIS) I can barely afford to run FP/Ops to continue to gear the character because of these absurd repair costs, makes NO sense re: progression *facepalm*

The costs for repair on my GS trippled. Camp/BH/Rak gear. Just unreal.
Proper Dual spec please.

Thank you for the figures, a hell of an eye opener. I know regret putting my Merc in the Legacy gear, though.

What it boils down to in the end is that EA/BW created a flawed economy when they created this game. They expected people to be honest and trust worthy and to help each other out. They expected there to be a high lvl of Socialism and Communism present; ex a guild members pooling all of their $ and resources together to help each other out and then $ would be irrelevant and almost unnecessary hence the reason most low lvl missions only yield 50 or 60 credits. They didn't count on a bunch of capitalists trying to earn 100 million credits any way they possibly could and not sharing that $ with anyone for any reason. So someone at BW figured that the richest players are the ones who raid on a regular basis, so how do we get all that money out of their coffers so that the poorer players can afford the in game items? I know we increase repair bills to astronomical prices... FYI EA/BW the richest players are the endgame craters and they, like the richest people in America, don't care how much repair bills are because they can afford them. But the average joes, like the people posting here, are the ones who cant afford the repair bills. They are the casual gamers who wanna jump on, runa a raid and go spend time with their families. The causal gamers are the market that will spend the most money on your game & you need to do what you need to do to keep them around. Sure that hardcore gamers are going to sub to your game and spend $ to keep playing, but there aren't enough of them to support your employees. Casual gamers drive the market and you are successfully driving us away with every change you make.
Yeah your economy is broken, I get that, and most of us get that. Stop putting in fixes aimed at the rich that only hurt the poor... one would think that the US Congress is running BioWare these days...
