I've been getting countless errors over the past week now and it's just getting tiring.
Ever since the 5th my launcher has been loading extremely slow(like 10-20 minutes), I've been getting random disconnects when trying to login, when I fiinally get online I have like 80k Server Lag and loads of interfaces missing, when I try to logout I get infinite load screen and have to restart which completely repeats the whole process again until I finally get lucky. Though, today It's just continually repeating all of the above and not working.

I know I have a really poor internet, but I've been playing for 6 months if not more perfectly without any problems and it's only just starting getting like this on the 5th. I've already made a thread about this before and thought I fixed it so I left the thread, but it's back.

Please help.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the website (only SWTOR) seems to be running really slow for me aswell for some reason, other websites seem to be loading at their usual snails pace.
EDIT:Currently sitting on 120,000 Server Lag MS and it's rising by about 1000 every second.

---
200,000 - 5:36 PM
300,000 - 5:37 PM

Was at 357,00 ~ then got kicked to an infinite loading screen.. sigh..

ALAS finally managed to get online with full bar connection after an hour and 43 minutes. I'd still like help to prevent this problem in future though. Oh, and I only wanted on that account to transfer credits over, so hopefully my otherr will work.

try using www.pingplotter.com initially to see what is happening.

What OS and antivirus/firewall are you using ?

How do I use pingplotter? My launcher and SWTOR website are both currently loading extremely slow. I'm using Windows 7, Kaspersky Antivirus and Windows firewall.

EDIT: My internet is terrible but Pingplotter website seemed to load fast, it only seems to be SWTOR website and my SWTOR launcher that are going extremely slow. I can't tolerate how slow this is going and i'm used to my internet being really slow.

Something is definitely wrong.. trying to download pingplotter and it's downloading at 1000 b/s.. taking 13 minutes for an 800kb file.

I think you may need to talk to your ISP about your connection, get them to run tests on the line.

Edit - sorry if i disappear its 1 am here in Australia going to get some shuteye.

The only thing I can think of, is that sometime in the past 2 weeks I kept getting DNS errors on all of my browsers randomly, I tried to search for a fix and found one. I changed proxy servers or something and they worked again, could this be the cause? I'm trying to find the page I changed proxy on but I can't seem to find it now.

EDIT: If I remember right I changed it from automatic to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.#.# or something (# being a number) I think these are google DNS but I'm by no means a technical person so have no idea what those are but it seemed to fix the problem I was having.

DNS servers just provide a means to translate name to numbers ie . www.google.com = 74.125.237.148

Can I ask what sort of connection you have to the internet and who it is with ? Have you spoken to them ?

Years ago proxy servers where a way to make efficient use of limited bandwidth as it stored commonly accessed sites, if you can provide the above information would be helpful.

Have you spoken to your ISP at all ? 13 min to download a 800kb file bring me flashbacks back to my 14.4k modem days and that was a very long time ago before the internet.

Well, it's currently my mum who is paying for the internet after countless attempts to ask her to get it sorted she still seems to believe it's fine the way it is (she doesn't use it much). We were with AOL but apparently they've switched to TalkTalk (didn't notify us), my mum has phoned several teams to leave them, but they always intice you back in with a good deal then a few months down the line the internet is garbage again.

I'm not sure who the ISP is, but when I run a speedtest on speedtest.net it says that my ISP is TalkTalk.

I don't know why this is happening, everything seems to be loading extremely slow now everytime I restart my computer, but once I can actually get something loaded it seems to load faster after the initial time.
take yesterday for example, it took me like 2 hours to get SWTOR from launcher > login, then I could close the game and re-launch and get logged in again within 2 minutes. After restarting pc it's back to loading extremely slow again.

I was messing around with connections yesterday and seemed to have lost my wireless connection so I'm back to using the big chunky yellow ethernet cable using a LAN.

EDIT: Ye I've had this garbage internet for a few years now but I'm used to it, it puts it into perspective when you see someone complaining about having a slow 2 mb download speed, that would take them less than half a second to download that file and it takes me upwards of 13 minutes. facepalm. Mums been saying for about 5 months she'll get a new internet but still waiting.
