And, yes, I am content. I am enjoying the game and will enjoy the new content when it gets here. I have no control over the release, so I'm good with what there is. When that changes, I will walk away.
You're asking what the benefit of communicating with the customer is? It's obvious...being honest with your customers creates good will and allows us to have an idea of what to expect from a service we pay for. Nobody ever complains about too much communication. You seem to think customers can be taken for granted, but the gaming industry is one of the most competitive markets out there.

I enjoy this game too and I'm fine with a delay, but I'm concerned about the consequences the silence brings. MMOs are only enjoyable with other players and as we wait, players not as happy as you are, are already walking away. The more players who slip away, the less fun the game becomes to me.

I think you're misinterpreting that. 6 weeks between updates, 9 for this one because of the holidays...not 9 weeks + 2 more for the holidays.

I don't think so...

There are content that were ready one years ago (see torhead content leack) and this content are actually wainting for makeb, with improvments of course

I think PTS copy will come with 1.7, or more probably, they will skipp testing, because actully (without PTS copy) is near to impossible to a good test. So there are two possibility:

1) Character copy will come with 1.7 and we will have 1 or 2 weeks of testing, after that will go live.

2) More probably (the patch test is more than 2.5 giga is not the 1.7!!, is impossible!!!!) they will skip 1.7 testing, they will do only internal testing and leave character copy for Makeb.

In the first case we will have just a week of dalay that is fine, in the second one, we will not have delay.

Cheers!

With Freemium, they effectively neutered the subscribers' "power of the wallet". They now have free reign to screw us over at every opportunity because there effectively no consequence for EA. For each of us that subscribe, there are probably 10 or more that spend money foolishly in the CM Store. EA is short term mined. They could care less if this game stays around or not. There will always be another game for EA. Look at how they treated WAR ( ruined an ICON property like Gamesworkshop' Warhammer). It's all about the short term $$.

3. 1.7 event will be sometime in feb. we are just 7 days into feb.
So far to say that if it doesn't come out this month, heads will roll

At the very least, BW detailed the changes they were making to classes before big class balance changes... I don't remember how much time in advance but it was at least a week or two of notice. Does this mean class balance changes won't be in this patch or that the patch is being delayed?

I don't think that 9 weeks number was pulled out of thin air, someone quoted it from the Q&A.

No, you misunderstand me. Communication is awesome. Where we disagree is about the level of communication. I understand that, given the nature of the development process, they need to keep commitments fluid. You seem to want them to come out and state what, exactly, the problem is and exactly how long it will take to correct it (if there even is a problem). Companies in other industries have product launches slip all the time. They certainly don't always give information on why, or set a new date right away. Why? Because once something slips, it's really difficult to know how long it will take to get it back on track. It's called unforeseen circumstances. That's part of life.

People with any experience at life understand that and don't QQ so much. Believe me, nobody is leaving this game because an incremental patch slipped by a couple of weeks.

Good point Urael...sadly, I think you're correct.

Where have I ever said that??? I have NEVER claimed any such thing...are you sure you quoted the right person?

edit: In fact, I've stated just the opposite. Please re-read my posts and stop mischaracterizing my position.

This is insulting.

You equate oposition to EA, EAware and the poor choices they made for this game as QQ? And people that don't agree with the path this game has taken as "having no experience at life"?

You want to rephrase and rethink what you wrote here?

I made no mention of the path of the game. We're discussing delays and communication. Nothing more.
