Bad feeling about lack of "Expansion" news

Wow, and I thought I hated surprises.

This is really simple.

If you don't know if you should buy it or not, don't buy it.

Wait for it to be released, then you'll get user/gaming reviews, then you can choose to purchase it or not.

I pre-ordered as soon as it was announced.

Well I think any further announcements they have regarding the content of RoTHC will be reserved for those important two to three weeks before launch where they can make the special announcements about the full content. Probably in a countdown type format where they can generate and build hype in the community with a few surprises, and make the release a big event.

Basic business acumen really to do that, so the fact that they haven't said anything else about it yet?....

A) They are probably still finishing it and finalising the programming, ironing out all the bugs (hopefully)
B) They will want to save the 'best for last' and make all the other details part of the launch event one would hope.

What I don't get is, why in a time when every company is trying to get all the money they can, that they make an expansion about the most unloved, unappealing, uninteresting race in the game... It's bizarre. You'd think they would have realised by now that when people think "star wars", it's not "the adventures of the evil space t****" that gave it appeal o_O

It reminds me of how in City of Villains every new patch started becoming about saving the world in some way and so people just stopped playing it and it eventually got to the point where pretty much all anyone heard was "City of Heroes" because that was the only people left playing. It's like at EA/Bioware they are saying imperial players can't have them fight the empire, "so lets have some nastier baddies", because everyone knows that Empire players really want is to play republic characters with different names. o_O

It's like they gave some "True Star Wars Fan" boy control of what to make an expansion about, it's something that has no appeal whatsoever to most people, I know when I did the Hutta missions I pressed Space a hell of a lot through the "booga booga jumba jumba" crap and just wanted the big fat t****s off from my screen!

I like dark storylines, but hutts aren't dark, they're cartoonish stereotypical laughably evil. We need more Kaliyos.

They can surpise us with the plot of Makeb (in specifics), but not in what is in it.

But like I said I don't think they are surprising us, there's just not a lot to Makeb.

PTS may be much shorter, they have been employing external testers this time which they have not done before, that implies that RotHC will be more heavily tested before it hits PTS than the patches we have had before. So I don't see the fact that it is not on PTS yet to mean very much.

Well, there's still plenty of time for them to announce more features. Spring is still a long way off. And then we don't even know when in the Spring it will be. We could be 4-5 months from release (though I'm betting on April, personally).

So far, I like the game and am looking forward to more of it. So I pre-ordered immediately. If your experience is different, maybe you should wait. No biggie and nothing wrong with that. Complaining about the lack of an update at this time is fairly pointless, though.

I don't think RotHC is coming as soon as some people are choosing to believe. Seems to me that it's going to be update 2.0 giving us a few more regular updates before then.

Ordering now is no more different than pre-ordering any new game. You really don't know what to expect until the the game is near finished. It was like this when people first pre-order swtor. I would just wait and see if your that paranoid about the expansion. The way I see if your enjoying yourself I would pre-order since your already having fun playing the game. If not, then I would hold off and see what they have to offer.

I'm still having a blast pvping and just starting to get into a little pve, barely starting run dungeons or flash points in this game. Thus, I pre-order even though at first I was a bit in doubt. I'm still annoy that paid transfers aren't available though. I would really like my 3 50's on bastion to get off and xfer to Harbinger.
