Heroic space missions

I don't use barrel roll, and I can easily beat all of the available missions. In the non-heroics I can usually avoid taking any damage through shields. It's impossible to avoid all hits, you just have to avoid enough so you don't die.

When the first 3 frigates appear, hit your electronic warfare to avoid getting shredded, then your EMP blast. You'll strip all turrets off the frigates leaving engines, shield generators and the nav array on the nose. Few missiles make short work of those and that's three frigates. EMP blast will then be off cooldown again at the end when the other two frigates show up, so give them the same treatment.

I believe the correct reply to OP would be something like...."You're bad. Moving on.".

But seriously, the missions aren't hard at all. You should be failing once, at most, to learn the pathing/mechanics. If you're failing more than twice then these aren't for you. Games in general aren't for you, and you should feel lucky you never had to play NES/Sega/Atari games since you're obviously in the infinite life/checkpoint generation of gamers.

Don't be silly.

Let me give you an example. The first time I ran Drexel Sweep, I barely got through by the skin of my teeth. Once I learned how to dodge incoming fire (strafe left or right + barrel roll) I was able to make it through the first 90 seconds of that mission taking NO damage whatsoever.

That doesn't mean that barrel roll is required, but don't discount it as useless if you don't know how to use it to completely dodge incoming fire.

That's just silly. It certainly took me more than two attempts to learn them, I had a ball doing it and now I farm them for the BH each week. They are completely for me - and for anyone else who has the patience to learn them.

Not sure what I'd make of anyone who simply gave up after two failed attempts at something.

disagree - you dont need to waste a pod click at the beginning, I use pod coming around an asteroid halfway through when the 2nd covert ship comes out with the bomber friends because that part can kill you easy.

@OP - if u can beat cha rhaaba, you should be able to beat the rest of them, cha rhaaba is the hardest imo.

people complain about these space missions for some reason I dont know why - it's an easy 8 bh comms every week.

Yeah I really regret buying those lvl 7 ship parts with all my cartel points what an utter waste.

I got the spaceship packs from the Cartel market a month or so back and gave the space missions a quick go. Got totally wiped out and felt a bit silly for buying them.

Gave the missions another try last night and after many attempts got through a couple, New Cov Ice Field and another one. Had to give up on some of them though as they were taking too long to get work out.

I'll persevere but the jump from the normal missions to these is pretty high. I'm determined to get my reputation up with the fleet though.

I think the missions can be exponentially harder depending on the quality of your computer. Space combat does not seem to be optimized very well, especially when it comes to particle effects like smoke (that kinda thing really gives my machine a hard time).

I find the new space missions to be insanely hard and lacking in any sort of difficulty progression. Moreover, it just looks like a frustrating mess on my screen, making it not worth my time or effort to try to improve.

I tried them once (working on them and trying to learn them for a while), got annoyed, and quit. I went back for another try a couple weeks later, got annoyed and quit. I haven't been back since.

Pass.

The first day I tried these missions I failed early on and frequently. I gave up and let them sit for awhile. A couple weeks ago I went back and tried again and did much better at them.

Here's what I did.
I watched the Dulfy video walkthroughs on youtube for each mission right before I tried them.
I started with the escort mission, it is, by far, the easiest.
I ONLY worked on the primary objectives.

I was able to get through all the missions that day. Watching the videos was a huge help. Starting with one of the easier ones was also a huge help.

Now that I've 'unlocked' each of the dailies I run them every day they're available on 3 different toons. Getting the 40 space comms and 2 Black Hole comms is a very nice bonus for gearing toons. If you didn't know, 200 space comms gets you a Tier 8 crafting loot box from one of the space vendors. You can get up to 3 molecular stabilizers every 200 space comms. You can also get none if you get the other type of tier 8 crafting mat, but all in all it is worth it, especially for, once you get the hang of them, how little time they take.
