Gear from content, not from market!

I would like at least 2 ways to get the items I want. 1 option to buy from the cartel shop, and 1 option for them to drop from mobs in a certain area with a low probability of it actually dropping say 0.05% or something to that effect. Every other game has done something like that, why not this game?

Why not just buy them off the AH with credits? That's much easier than farming a 0.05% drop rate.

So we're lazy because we're asking for an option to EARN the same gear available on the cartel market in game? Please be stupid elsewhere.

But seriously I think some items should involve a long quest line like HK-51 and for those who don't want to spend that much time doing it, there's the cartel market option. =D

Oh but wait, some of those outfits are available already, but only for the respective classes.
I mean an option to purchase cartel coins with in-game currency or maybe even Hutt Cartel specific quests, they dont even need to have Voice overs, just make them a mission terminal hand in.

It's a thousand times easier but that's not the point. Why not give us the option?

Easier doesn't mean more fun. Granted, his example of 0.05% drop rate is a bit extreme and not fun either. But, I get no satisfaction from getting cool loot by easily buying it from a market (GTN or Cartel). I'd much rather earn cool new loot through playing the game in some manner. That's fun and gives me a reason keep playing the game.

You don't need to purchase cartel coins with ingame credits because you can purchase the cartel items themselves with ingame credits. What value does the extra layer of transaction provide?

It's an extra option, and it makes it possible for the cartel market to actually feel like it's part of the game world, especially if they add an in-game cartel market vendor instead of what they use now. It's all about fun and giving your customers options, options that Bioware's competitors (who have older games) are offering.

So you'd rather trade X credits to the cartel market, get Y coins, then turn around and by Z item from the market, instead of go to the GTN and spend X credits on Z item?

That's really a stretch. Makes zero sense.

I think the important part of this thread is.that SWTOR now is focused on the cartel market and not new content...that is a losing proposition for subscribers. What are we getting for our continued investment in this game?
