Thanks for a nice big patch!

so, people were crying every single day for fix bugs. and now what we got it they are still crying?

They are.

I see. So a patch that adds nothing but cartel packs, or an expansion that adds nothing but cartel packs, with said cartel packs being mostly recolors of existing gear, is fine with you?

Did you have any other expectation when they announced F2P? Are you aware of EA's reputation?

It was a marketing patch, used to bring in more money, not fix issues. Space missions are still broken, people are still crashing, Ops still have bugs and they are spending their time pushing out new packs and CC items.....for the money. This is what happens when finance takes over a game from developers. We will see a continued pattern of "snake oil salesmen" type of marketing until the game fizzles our altogether.

Good Things About this Patch:

The new character select screen is very nice. First off, the select button is now next to the characters instead of at the bottom. Plus, it seems the character order is now based on most recently played. I believe previously the top slot was always the most recently played, and the other characters were alphabetical.

Also, I think the sort option within your cargo bays and inventory are a nice addition even if I can't figure out how they work yet. To expand on this, when I sorted one bay it seemed to pull in items from the next bay to fill the empty space.

The bugs were not fixed chief. They added cartel packs for cash, but I still can't do heroic space weeklies, I'm still crashing.....and many, many more. The few tiny bugs they fixed were the fastest and easiest to do so as to take as little time from marketing as is possible and provide some semblance of plausible deniability regarding the direction of the game.

So after reading the venom that the current patch was received with in this thread I decided to go look at the patch notes myself.

The first thing I noticed is that the Cartel Market items and fixes are listed first, but if you keep reading it is not actually the majority of the patch. The largest section seems to be bug fixes for classes, missions, FPs and Ops. Fixed some appearance stuff. Fixed the F2P bug. A few other things. Overall it is a decent patch. Of course there is new cartel items, I expect that in every patch now.

So why the hate? Fixing things is a negative now because they didn't fix the right things?

The only issue I really see is the Harbinger problem. That seems pretty serious and I can guarantee that they are in panic mode over there trying to figure out what went wrong so they can fix it. Despite what some people seem to imply they are not intentionally trying to get rid of their players. They want their players to be happy because happy players pay money.

Last thought... Can we PLEASE stop with the "Well they lost two million subs! Duhher!" Yes, they did. Just like every other MMO after launch in the history of MMOs (Not sure if WoW was an exception, but if so it was just that, an exception). It does not speak to the quality of the game.

I like the cartel market and don't spend extra money on it since its available on the GTN. I'm waiting for 2 days until it all goes into the GTN for cheap XD
