I'm massively confused on how this is a decent patch. Pretty much every bug fix was for cartel market stuff, none of the larger, fairly gamebreaking issues seem to have been addressed.
A fix for 32-bit client players who crash regularly - nope
Emerging Conflicts V mission not completing when finishing a flashpoint - nope
GF not giving rewards if you crash during the FP even if you reconnect and complete with the same group (which is obviously an issue for people with problem #1) - nope
Dieing during a boss fight causing the boss to go invisible on combat rezz - nope

Every one of those are issues that effect me, guildmates and friends on a daily basis and not one of them was addressed, and they are GAMEBREAKING issues. So I'm glad you are satisfied with that patch...I on the other hand am not in the least.

Rambling post incoming...

It is disheartening when there are obvious glaring problems in the game. People get so excited about "weekly patches" but most of the updates are specific to the Cartel Market. For weeks now we've had several encounters in operations not working correctly....such as no ads spawning on the Terror From Beyond. That fight is soooo trivial now because of all the bugs that exist in the fight. But hey, at least we get a discount on the Life Day stuff on the cartel market. Which brings up another point...instead of creating an event for the holiday BW opted to just add items to the cartel market and make people pay for them. I highly doubt we'll see any future events when they'd just rather charge real money for items. Last year I read numerous articles about how disappointing SWTOR was in terms of revenue. At this point BW is just trying to make as much money as they can off this game so that it doesn't continue to be the embarrassment of the EA quarterly earnings report.

They'll win it before the Lions do. Probably before the Lions win or even get into another playoff game.

While I can understand that some here are happy that their outfits are no longer "clipping" so they can look cute, (and that's a good thing) pressing issues like crashing to the character select screen when entering WZ, mail being inaccessible, not being able to post more than 2 or 3 items in GTN at a time, and logging in to find one quickslot bar with F2P restrictions are all much more relevant and pressing issues. A year after launch and the memory leak problem still isn't fixed.

Three days ago I logged in, had only one quickslot bar, my speeder was gone, and speeder piloting 3 was "unlearned." After relog I was able to re-add my other quickslot bars and another digital deluxe edition letter received so I could reclaim a replacement speeder, however it still cost me another 150k to re-learn speeder piloting 3. Will I have to spend 150k credits to relearn skills everytime the server acts stupid? I shouldn't have to eat that cost.

My problem is that EA/BioWare seems to be focusing only on cosmetics and cash shop issues, while everyday playability issues are put off. While I look forward to the upcoming "expansion," I'd honestly rather they delay its release and dedicate a few weeks solely to fixing the game and getting it to where its playable again.
That sucks. If I were experiencing that sort of pain when trying to play a game, I'd find another source of entertainment ASAP.

That's in the patch notes. Is it not in the game?

EA did not -make- anyone pay for Life Day items. They gave people the option of paying for them if they wanted them. If you dislike the cartel market, the best thing to do is not use it. If enough people dislike it enough, it won't make any money for EA and they'll have to figure out another path to profit.

You're missing the obvious point. Instead of putting resources (development time) into worthwhile projects, such as fixing severe lag on the only west coast pve server or addressing glaring bugs in operation encounters, Bioware chooses to address issues with the Cartel Market. Clearly, their priorities are on the money making mechanism in the game. Bioware had two weeks to do something more substantial than fix Cartel Market items and discount pricing on various items.

You're missing the obvious point. This game is run by EA, masters at making money from gamers and especially thrilled with themselves when they do it by screwing gamers over. That's who you're dealing with.

Also, it's highly likely that the cartel market items can be created by (relatively less expensive) artists and animators rather than (relatively more expensive) coders. They did fix some bugs so they do have some coders, but the money seems to be in the market so that's where they're going to focus most of their attention.

If you don't like that scenario, convince people to stop paying real money for cartel coins and EA will have to alter their approach to profitability.

I don't know why you would think that they create these pack every week/month. They've made these packs a long time ago (during the F2P transition) and they are enabling them each month. They have fixed some bugs, but the majority of their time goes towards major patches 1.7 and ROTHC.

Thanks for the positive thread. Unfortunately, forum whiners have done more to destroy this game than anyone, from day 1. It is destructive to the community to have such a constant stream of hate here. I get why Mythic never endorsed official forums for DAoC.

Anyway, resubbed a few weeks back and having a blast. This game is underrated and underappreciated by many players, in my opinion. I'm glad to see the population increasing (at least on my server of Jung Ma), and I hope that continues. I'd love for Bioware to be able to fund a full-blown expansion in the coming years. (I'd really like to see guild housing or ships implemented).

I play on a pos Win XP SP3 machine with a 1G graphics card & only 3G of RAM and have occasional crash issues, but lag is usually restricted to fleet when it's highly populated. No probs in FPs or WZs. Conversely I built my wife a Rampage X-79 with i7-3770K 3.5GHz ,16G RAM and a 2G 660Ti graphics card. Other than Sunday night she's had no lag or crash issues ... ever ... and she's been here since open beta.

I think the rig has a lot to do with it. Everyone in a warzone having constant lag episodes that last for a few seconds is sensationalist trolling.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

That's crazy talk. Not ONE of these "whiners" has coded even a single line of code for Bioware. Not ONE of these "whiners" has any more say than YOU do in how this game is developed. Not ONE of these "whiners" has ANY control over the game. Bioware is the only one capable of destroying the game, despite the credit you'd like to give the "whiners".

2 million+ people walked away from SWTOR - games speak for themselves.
