I mean, considering all of this stuff has been programmed for over half a year, how hard can it be to deliver on such a petty commitment?

They said it would be 8 weeks after 1.6 because of the holidays

Yep, they were very clear and said that there would be a two week delay over the holiday periods.

It was stated that there would be a nine week gap after the last patch due to the holidays. The cycle is still aimed at 6-8 weeks. Because of the holidays the devs had two weeks off. Nothing happened to the cycle.

The Holidays happened? You know that time of year where everyone takes a break, usually.

Holidays happen. God forbid they get a couple of weeks to spend with family instead of working. Also, you need to get a calendar and count again. 1.6 launched December 11th, as I recall. It's been about 4 weeks since then. 6-8 weeks per patch, minus 4 weeks, equals...? Maths are hard.
