say you have a dark Jedi and light Sith and you want to go over to the other side let the game do it and let the companions go with as a new plot to the game

BW already announced there would be NO side switching at launch. Sorry.

Although I do see the logic behind this, some of the companions wouldn't want to go. Take Quinn for example. He's a die-hard Imperial. Zenith hates the Empire. It just wouldn't work out as smoothly as you think.

You're basically asking for a whole new game, where the companions have different interactions or you have all new companions, the players have all new dialogue and interaction with opposing faction npcs, and where the stories end entirely differently or the endings become meaninglless and need to be replaced by new endings. And all this for a fairly small percentage of characters who would change sides. It's not feasible.

Would be nice for a single player RPG though. Not in the half-***** form we see it in most Star Wars games, but in a way that the story is totally different if you defect to the other side.

completely pointless, dark jedi is still a republic scum adorer and disturbed light side Warrior is a subject of the mighty Empire - their alignments dont make them switch sides as both Empire and Republic are not respectively evil and good ( it is the other way !!!! )
Aperture Science. We do what we must, because we can. For the good of all of us- Except the ones who are dead.
