How about making HK-51 parts easier to find now?

Ok, that was pretty ignorant...
He already said it was easier before when everyone was looking for it, but now almost nobody is looking for the parts, meaning you have to spend more time (on average) finding it, so making it a bit easier (not just handing the parts to you, but maby making the area they appear in smaller) would only be fair to those of us who have to solo it now.

How do you use your head to find a part that is located in a pretty well random location? And its location changes everytime someone finds it. All Dulfy's guide (and every other one do) is pretty well point out a location where it was found once. Doesn't help at all for a person coming along at a later time.

It's a pain solo but easy with 3 people and I quite liked the quest

It's not that it is easy or hard, despite some of the chest-thumping by people above.

I started the quest last week and can empathize that solo searching is very tedious. I spent 2 hours on Taris by myself before someone else in my guild responded that they needed parts too. Even with 1 extra person the speed of searching is so much greater. Either that or my luck completely changed and stayed good for 3 planets, because we found all the Pub side parts within 15-20 mins on each planet once we teamed up. *Sarcasm about the "luck"thing*

I know a lot of us want to be self-reliant but this IS an MMO and the mission DOES say Heroic 2+. I think the point is to get working in teams. I am lucky to be in an active Guild so eventually someone else was bound to respond. Maybe the OP, and others in the same boat who aren't Guilded, should advertise in chat at Fleet for a partner who also wants HK?

IMHO, the initial "everybody has to go get it" rush is over and the trickle of searchers today will be the way it is for a long time to come. Most searchers these days are dedicated, while those not so inclined just purchase it with cartel coins.

As somebody stated, some of us are not on very active guilds, so you have to find people as you go. When I am in Hoth every couple of hours I see 1 person asking "anybody for HK". I have gone as far as helping somebody search when I don't even need it (I kept the scanner).

It is just boring. It there were clues to decipher the location, or some mental quest, but it is just luck of the draw.

I know what them "logical minds" with a plan mean. You start at one end and scan in a pattern. That means you might get lucky on the first 15 secs, or on the first 2 hours, depending on where you started. I don't see the entertainment value there. If I wanted to gamble, I would be at the casino MMO...

All I say is study the flow of searchers these days. Maybe reduce the area a bit, or add a couple more spawn points. Doesn't need to be easy, it is just super annoying right now.
I don't know if this is a Sith thing, but at the beginning of every game conversation my first thought is "You are so dead"...

I'm progessing through this myself.
On the whole it's not been too bad.
Taris and Coruscant took me 45 minutes.
Hoth took a lot longer until 4 other people turned up.
I spent 40 miunutes om Dromund Kaas before aomeone else turned up.
There are still people looking for it, although not as many as before.
Perhaps one possible route would be to allow you to buy a scanner with twice the range for twice the price.
As it is the quest isn't entirely soloable, so the comment regarding the use of other people in a group is correct.

Theoretika was really good fun but I'm glad I never have to go through the whole scanning thing again.

Now that there are a lot less people searching I think the scanning range should be increased.

Just be glad it's not like foraging for Druid epic weapon pieces was in Everquest. It was totally RNG; there were no "spots" to look.

I personally think that, except the Tatooine item, the quests are as they should be. I don't like pve being mixed with pvp. I've done the HK series 4 times now and sometimes finding the part is quick and sometimes it's not. Get a group together and you help your chances. HK is a good companion to level up with, aside from the occasional storyline bugs and finding gear at some levels is a challenge.

I don't mind the scavenger hunt. I do wish there was another way to get the FP pieces for the Roleplayers who can't replay those flashpoints without 'violating their continuity'.

Or they could just HM's + story/cutsceneless "Simulations" like they do for same v same warzones
