Noone forces you to buy at the cash shop, I bought the CE, I'm paying my sub, I'm paying for the expansion to support the great elements of the game. That's it and I'm fine with it. I'm looking forward to the expansion and hope it can keep up the great storylines of the core game, hope there's more difference though, if you play the planet on another toon.

I really hope Makeb has a REALLY GOOD STORY.
Like seriously, a story good enough to reignite some immersion in this game.

But Bioware said expansion and this doesn't stack up.
Are you currently working at Bioware? All they have listed is a few features that will be in it. How do you know they won't add more pvp and pve endgame content? (which they will pretty much have to with the level cap increase.) The last part of the listed features states "Stay tuned for more information coming soon - Over the next few months we will reveal more exciting new features!"

Seems a lot of people are going to mindlessly bash the expansion, only having part of the information of features that will be in it.

Relax people. Make your final judgement in the spring when we have ALL the information.

Well I don't know what to call it, but that fact that I'm being asked to pay for some promised <content/expansion> that is at minimum 3 months away, with skimpy details of what they plan on giving me, doesn't exactly seem like a good investment at this point.

It's DLC now.

Still at least it's cheap.
naaaa, Rift just launched their expansion

Tripled the playable world size
Complete revamp of PVP
Complete revamp of post 50 Dungeons
New classes and races

HUGE Expansion as it should be to call something a expansion

EQ just launched its 19th??? (something like that) expansion and while im going on second hand info from a guildie. That expansion is huge (about half the size of the Rift one) and introduces a ton of new content (you would have to go look it up for a full list).

Expansions are still huge everywhere else in MMORPGs but here it seems

This is a content update!

I WISH IT Was a Expansion as I REALLY want to play in the Wookie planet
I WANT this to be a expansion

but sadly its just a content update called a expansion so EA can charge a fee to subscribers.

Got till spring to see if they change it up and add a ton of content or maybe game just dies off for me and I leave.

Either way I dont see me paying for this limited content.

Not about the money.
Now its just about principle and whats right!
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

I'm not really sure what all these people have been posting about "half an expansion." I played WoW before this, and the Cataclysm expansion, although fun, was not too much content. It was two new areas, and then existing areas to places that already were there. Not only that, but the underwater places was awful and just completely not fun to play. The Maelstrom was fun though. And, it was only two new raids. Firelands and all that jazz came later. There was new gear, which this will have as well, and I'm sure it will have new raids as well. Those expansions were also $30-40 each, whereas this is $10 to subscribers. It's a full planet, and because of the voice acting, it takes longer to make class stories for 8 classes! People need to calm down and also realize that it came out within 1 year, which WoW always took 2 years between expansions. I can't help but think Bioware actually loves making the game, and it shows.

Exactly. These people assume every other MMO does it better.

This costs 1/4 of a WoW expansion. yes, Pandaria at launch cost four times what Makeb does. And it only added 5 levels as well. It's a SMALL expansion, which is why it has a SMALL price.

Unfortunately facts are lost in these forums and people make other games expansions and what other companies do sound like something utterly epic..forgetting to look closer at the real details( recognizing that other games do things better and other things no so good) But that requires some to take the hate shades off for a few minutes and see a clearer picture. Unfortunately its far easier and requires no effort to forum rage then to step back a minute and gain relevant perspective first.
