I have reported this issue so many times in bug reports and nothing has ever been done about it. Just last night I sent another bug report on this same issue.

Specifically it seems to be entering hyperspace in cut scenes that causes the crash.

Hyperspace in my ship is fine.
If you can keep your head when all around are losing their's, it's possible you haven't grasped the gravity of the situation.

You can try right clicking on the SWTOR icon on your desktop and click properties and then the compatability tab. Then put a checkmark in the box that says disable visual themes. This might help. Won't hurt anything. It disables windows themes while you play the game and saves some mem and vis resources, especially if you have a slideshow desktop theme.

Disable desktop composition is worth it as well if playing in windows mode.
hmm never tested if this had an effect before

Bug has been around since BETA for several people. The fix is to use Fullscreen (Not windowed fullscreen) and tab out right when the cutscene starts. Count to 15-20 seconds and then tab back in.
