All warfare is based on deception If his forces are united, separate them If you are far from the enemy, make him believe you are near A leader leads by example not by force

I'm a software engineer by profession and while I don't do game programming it seems inconceivable that anyone would code something like an MMO without planning well into the future and that would include putting hooks, textures, etc in the current code to support the planned additions. Or did you think they just finish coding a game like SWOTR or WoW then sit around talking about what to do next? From my perspective that would be idiotic and make adding content much more difficult.

Last February isnt anywhere nears WoWs release date. Please name me which developers left WoW shortly after release, or at least their positions ... because I sure as hell dont remember anything to this scale happen to an MMO since the last company EA purged. For one, last I checked Morhaime was still CEO of Blizzard ... and has been since 91. Pretty much every single name we heard of and read about with Bioware and SWTOR is gone ... all within the last few months.

There is a reason EA is rated among the worst companies in the US ... again.
/facepalm It's near Mists of Pandaria release. In fact well before it. 500 employess

Allen Adham started Blizzard WITH Morhaime. Was the lead designer on World of Warcraft HE LEFT just after World of Warcraft launched. Like I said very few people stay with a company unless they are in charge.

So there you go the LEAD DESIGNER of WORLD OF WARCRAFT and one of the 3 founding members of Blizzard entertainment. LEFT JUST AFTER WOW LAUNCHED.

The reason EA is rated the worse company is because of butt hurt fanbois. You have to be crazy to think a VIDEO game company is worse then Bank of America, Halliburton, or Black Water.

edit: Oh here you go an article from 2004 stating MANY of the cofounders of Blizard have left

Because its a sinking ship and they didnt want to go down with it.

It's going to be impressive. We have our Update 1.2 coming in the next week and then after that it's going to continue to roll out month after month. It's exciting."

He helped create a game that he would want to play not what we would want to play. Before anyone chews my head off, I love SWTOR and hope it has a bright future but there are a lot of key elements lacking that should have at least been in the oven since before launch; exotic races, appearance tabs, open world objective pvp, more tools for social interaction, mini-games (modders made pazaak for jedi knight jedi academy multiplayer, why dont we have pazaak?), npc factions with rankings, accomplishments, ship customization, etc. etc. I hope the new leads do better than their predecessors because honestly if this were a random sci-fi mmo and not STAR WARS I would not sub or even F2P. As it is though I am here for the long haul and have my fingers cross that things will improve.
I agree. Now I like to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was just saying what he was told to say but someone some where must have pointed out making an MMO with so few MMO features was a bad idea, and assuming your player base were idiots and would play how you told them to play is not smart.

I love when people compare to WoW in this context. WoW is 8 years old. ToR has barely hit a year. Know what other MMOs lost their main people inside a year?

AoC
Warhammer
Vanguard

All failures. 1 of them happens to be run by the same guy that is running ToR. He ran warhammer into the ground.

Yep, it is just sinking a whole lot slower. And just like Bioware doesn't really exist (it is just EA now), that is true also of Blizzard, it is more or less gone and it is just Activision now.
