It's how the video game industry works. Unless you are one of the top guys at a company you don't tend to stay. Developers want to make their own games. So once they get a few projects under their belt they move on to do their dream project.
Im fairly familiar with the games industry, I have a few friends in it and followed it myself for a few years while trying to get my foot in the door. While its true that most developers move around a lot, companies dont usually get gutted down to the founders just a few months after a big games release. These WERE the big execs in Bioware, the "top guys" as you said. Erickson, Ohlen, Zoeller were the main guys for TOR and have been with BW for years (at least Erickson and Ohlen).

Also WoW is 8 years old. Diablo had a 10(?) year hiatus between 2 and 3. BIG difference there. This reeks of EAs poison. It something we are all familiar with every time EA "merges" with another company (more like infects). Plenty of people even called it, though some, like myself, were crossing our fingers hoping BW was strong enough to resist it.

I'm pleased they've moved on. This game needed new leadership. Not that they were the problem, but Bioware needed to start changing somewhere.
All warfare is based on deception If his forces are united, separate them If you are far from the enemy, make him believe you are near A leader leads by example not by force

Since they are responsible for one for the greatest failures in gaming history, who would you think they would be kept around?

yeah the devlopers of WoW and Diablo left shorlty after they were launched.

Remember last febury Blizzard fired 500 employees. That is far more then Bioware ever had. All while still developing Diablo 3 and Mists of Pandaria.

And no matter the amount of people Activision threw at it, those are still terrible games.

Yeh I know fleets instanced right from released, however on many servers there was just 1 instance per fleet, unlike the triple instances going around now.

Should have seen the Mythic senior developers run out of the sinking ship when EA bought out Mythic Entertainment. People that were with the company a long time ran for the hills right after the sale.

Diablo is not an MMO.

Last February isnt anywhere nears WoWs release date. Please name me which developers left WoW shortly after release, or at least their positions ... because I sure as hell dont remember anything to this scale happen to an MMO since the last company EA purged. For one, last I checked Morhaime was still CEO of Blizzard ... and has been since 91. Pretty much every single name we heard of and read about with Bioware and SWTOR is gone ... all within the last few months.

There is a reason EA is rated among the worst companies in the US ... again.
