1. the red eclispe
2. all characters
3. The crashes happen from 30 minutes upto an hour of gameplay works out to about 7-10 crashes a day.
4. These crashes seem to happen when coming out and in flashpoints, warzones, new leveling areas and also experiencing them during gameplay. I know when it gonna crash during questing because my characters will start moving in jolts and then will just stop and game will shut down and i'll be on the desktop.
5. This problem seems to happen when memory usage gets too high or reaches a certain level.
6. Windows 7 32 bit 4gb ram which before 1.4 was capable of running the game without crashes.
7. The reason i know its not a disconnection is because i am not led back to the realm page which is what disconnections for me do on this game, also my loading screen for entering areas and during gameplay will just stop and the game will shut down and the application on my toolbar will just disappear.

I don't know if this helps anyone but i hope it will and i also hope that maybe some of us can put our heads together to try and figure this out. below is a email letter i get from tech support about our issue and on my end it seems to be a kernelbase.dll issue which it doesn't seem that there seems to be a fix for because it's in the microsoft user account i think. something about corrupted files or what have you. but if anyone knows or can think of a work around let's try and find one and post it up here. also as well like some others, my memory usage goes way up after a couple of hours and ctd's. goes up around to 70 or 80 percent before crashing and i have a decent video card and 4 gigs of ram. anyways hope this helps people even if it's in some small way, and like i said before if some of us can just get together and try some stuff and try sorting this out, then we can share it with the rest and maybe we'll end up finding a fix or workaround for at least some of us to be able to play. as for me the crashes are about every two hours or so on the nose so it's tough for me to run hm's ops, etc.

Thank you for the information you have provided to us, I sincerely would like to personally apologize for the delay in a response to your ticket and support request. We are attempting to do our utmost to provide support for our customers, we have encountered a large volume of contacts from our customers lately.

From review of your case and the information you have sent us.

I have reviewed your msinfo, this report is showing several KERNELBASE.dll failures, causing the Star Wars: The Old Republic process to crash, but there are also other applications which are crashing due to this error. As there are other applications crashing with this error, trying to trouble shoot this issue in regards to the game may not resolve the issue.

Unfortunately, the KERNELBASE.dll file is used by many Windows core processes for handling system and graphics memory in the computer and also this error has had several discussions on the Microsoft support sites that have linked the KERNELBASE.dll to a corrupt user profile or user account. I will need to ask you to please assist with further testing before I can give a clear troubleshoot for this issue.

If the issue still persists please try the following for your game crash issue:

1. Can you please test turning "User Account Control” to off as defined by Microsoft: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/w...trol-on-or-off

2. To make sure the game runs in Admin mode.

To do this please right click the following files:

- Launcher.exe is located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic"
- Swtor.exe is located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\swtor\retailclient"

Right click on the program that you want to fix, Click on “Properties”, Click on the “Compatibility” tab, Click on “Run this program as Administrator”

4. Can you please verify that you have checked your system memory for possible errors?

Please run memtest86+ (www.memtest.org), please run the memtest at least 6 times to verify that there is no issues with computer memory.

4. Sometimes a card can have an internal defect that only shows up in one game. Every game has game graphic routines and when other games do not address a certain broken pipe on your card, it can work there without issues. If have some graphic test utilities on your computer could you please try to test your card, you may find some help on the forums of your manufacturer were other users may experience a similar issue. This will also establish if the issue is relating to graphical memory.

Also as I have mentioned previously, this issue has been linked to a corrupt user account / profile on several Microsoft Support Discussion Websites.

Should you need further assistance with this matter, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Regards,

Alan

1. The Harbinger.
2. All toons.
3. Crashes at most 2 times a day but can be as long as 2 weeks between CTD,s. Example swtor crashed on the 23rd and 24th by prior to that was the 9th. And i play just about every day.
4. Typically happens either while loading the game and or while alt tabbed out of the game. I often alt tab out while switching zones and waiting for the new zone to load.

7. I only experience infrequent CTD's. It's memoryman.dll and MSVCR90.dll both at the same time. I'd guess one is causing the other to fail? Those are the only ones i get for this game except for bad vid card drivers errors from the past. 310.70 drivers have yet to error. I never get kernellbase errors. Other then the now and then CTD's i have no issues. Latency is fine. No FPS issues. No sound issues. Memory never exceeds 2gb total for this game. I don't run the game in any compatability mode and i do not use any memory management tools and or ram disks.

I have and do run lots of benchmark programs and mem test programs in which i score faily high and memory tests all pass. My comp is tweaked for performance and i'm using the drivers, bioses and firmwares that i like for reliability and performance both. Comp is also overclocked but well below it's maximum potential for ~100% stability. It has never blue screened. I usually leave my computer on, no sleep or hybernate, for up to 2 weeks before doing a reboot as well. Max i believe is 1 month without a reboot. Now and then the game may feel a little sluggish. If so i'll restart the game or if it's been a week or so between reboots i'll reboot the comp and i'm back to normal.

Compared to other games i find swtor to be as stable or unstable as any other game i play. tsw crashed today. Planetside 2 crashed 2 times the last time i played it a few days ago as examples. So it's on par with all the others. For me anyways.

Oh i might add that although dxdiag shows me using a pagefile i actually have it turned off. So i expect now and then to CTD as i run out of memory. So i can accept the infrequent CTD's i have which may be due to this. I'll take a random CTD now and then over the slowness of the pagefile system any day.

We are still actively investigating reports about consistent crashing to desktop during your game play, please reply to this thread with the following information:
1. Progenitor
2. Bahor
3. Every 5 minutes
4. Mostly it happens when i try to enter an instance. Also somtimes when I try to log in I get booted back to the server screen.

This has never happened before.

Not that this may help. But your ATI video card driver is 2 years and 4 months out of date. FYI
I would suggest updating that first and see if it helps any.

Ok, i updated my driver and now its even worse, the game still crashes to desktop but now the game closes after 2-3 crashes. I really dont know what to do, and I'm really starting to get angry!!! I dont know whats wrong with them, i've already sent them 2 mails-no reply. How could they let the game into shops like this!!! And I just bought the game like 5 days ago or so, but on the forum this thread is alive like 5 months!!! ***? They should be asheme!!!
