Hello Hansojojo,

Could I ask you to try the following steps?
  • Go to this location:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic
Here, if you find a folder called 'Patch', delete it please.
  • Run FixLauncher.exe (also in the above location) as administrator.
Afterwards, please run the launcher again and let us know if you still have the same problem.

Thank you for your help.

I have the same problem. I even reinstalled the game, but the launcher just won't start...

Did that as well, even a few times. Pressed Fixlauncher and all, made sure the launcher was no longer running... Nada, nothing works and even a clean reinstall doesn't do the job...
Fear is nothing.

Hello Hansojojo,

In order to try and resolve this could you make sure that that your java, C++ and microsoft .net framework is fully up to date to enable you to run the game correctly?

Please follow the steps outlined:
  1. Typing 'windows update' in search/run box.
  2. Select 'check for updates'.
  3. Then select 'check online for updates from Microsoft update'.
  4. Install all important and optional updates.

Next, please also go into the task manager and delete any instances of launcher.exe present there?

Finally, if the above steps are not successful, please go to www.swtor.com/download and download the setup file again and run it.(Please run the file as Administrator and add an exception for SWTOR_setup.exe to your firewall and anti-virus software).

This will reinstall the Launcher, it will not download the game content again.

Let us know how you get on.

Doesn't work for me... Two days now without SWTOR for no obvious reason.
Fear is nothing.
