The game has been crashing occasionally since 1.4 was released, this happens every 2 hours give or take. I know that this is an issue a lot of people are having atm. And I just wanted to know if there is a fix in progress or some possible workaround?

There is no workaround for a massive memory leak. You have to wait until BW patches the holes up in order to stop crashing. The 2 hour CTD intervals is your system running out of ram basically. BW will tell you to make sure everything is upgraded to its latest whatever.....some people will tell you to upgrade your computer's hardware whatever..... Looks as though this will be a long waiting game to me im afraid.

would be nice to get some news on this, been crashing since 1.4 and can't run ops without crashing most times. have tihs awful feeling they will release 1.5 without even fixing this issue.
