I have a Asus G53S gaming laptop
8GB Ram
GTX 460M

I can only play this game for 2 seconds then my sound starts bluring and cracking with popping sounds, following the shutdown of my computer.
I turned everything to low and tried this, no solution

What is the problem?/

Sounds like something is overheating, do you have any temp gauge software?

Trying to help a buddy of mine, after some Googling this seems to be an Asus issue.

He can play any game with max graphics but TOR on low settings crashes the pc.

He has updated drivers from Asus, next step maybe try from ATI but that might not be a good idea.

His loads up the game and then after 2 minutes or so the pc shuts completely off.

He has a G73.

Anyone else with the issue or some leads? This isn't an overheating issue, the laptop is cold started right into the game and it crashes before it even has time for the fan to kick into a higher gear.

I'm guessing we will see a patch for this but who knows how long that will take

I'm having almost an identical issue. I also have a G73J. As mentioned prior, I'm able to log in to the game, launch my character and then roughly 2-5 mins in, I am booted from the game and my PC completely shuts down. Any help or info. would be a huge bonus. The issue has to be related to SWTOR because this issue is not occuring with 3 other games on this particular machine. HELP!

Send your DxDiag and logs to support. Instructions are somewhere on this forum..

Not sure why, but this game creates a LOT of heat. I've played plenty of other games on my laptop with no issues. This one sends the GPU heat through the roof. I spent 20 bucks at Best Buy on a Logitech chill mat and haven't had a problem since. I'd recommend the Logitech too since it has two fan speeds and actually moves the air as apposed to some other brands, and it's a cheap price to pay if it fixes the issue.
