Using the parameters set here

I determined that in Annihilation spec I gained 1.35% DPS stacking crit to about 30% unbuffed (328 rating).

In Carnage spec, it was identical.

I have the parses available should anyone want to see them. I'm clearly better at Carnage (to the tune of 80-100 DPS) but am good enough with Annihilation to have it average between 1725-1750 DPS.

The parse results were:

Carnage with 164 crit rating:

High - 1905 DPS
Low - 1774 DPS
Average - 1828 DPS

Carnage with 328 crit rating:

High - 1890 DPS
Low - 1767 DPS
Average - 1826 DPS

Annihilation with 164 crit:

High - 1759 DPS
Low - 1692 DPS
Average - 1723 DPS

Annihilation with 328 crit:

High - 1803 DPS
Low - 1699 DPS
Average - 1747 DPS

The conclusion? Do whatever the hell you want. If you're in the 30% unbuffed crit chance camp, go for it. If you're in the 30% buffed crit chance camp, go for it. The difference is so minimal it isn't worth your time or credits to bother with. Based on just napkin math, I'd suggest the same is true for augmenting strength or power. Just buy whatever is easiest.

Thx for this. Confirms what my suspicions and paper napkin math told me a while ago. you either get smaller, more consistent crits, or bigger, less consistent.
