I'm just dropping in to say thanks, this helped with with my FPS drops My rig could not get above 40 FPS and would drop every time I walked forward, had people or NPCs nearby, started using powers etc. But now it's a constant 30.

Rig
AMD FX - 8150 3.6GHz
32GB RAM
GTX690 SLI GTX 580
1TB HDD (game installed)

Thank you so much! I had some ideas to put game files into ram. Even made a ramdisk, decided to make hardlinks from to RAM. But that turned out to be complete headache in windows (Linux user). You made a brilliant app which drives a lot of performance to SWTOR. In fact, ANY non-64 bit game could benefit from your idea.

I use SWTOR Unleashed on:
Desktop PC :
Core-i3 3220 , 8GB ram

Laptop:
Celeron B-815, 8GR ram

Helps a lot from framerate drops. Especially on the Celeron-based system, which has weak cpu-to-peripherals (like HDD) performance. Framerate is stable, sudden effects no longer lag or don't appear.
Thank you so much

One thing I could not find in the extensive description of this program.

This may also have been discussed already, I didn't read through all the 60 pages.

You can also save the contents of the RAM disk with ImDisk, to an image file.
And you can load this after a reboot, no need to run Unleashed everytime you reboot your PC.

Also one thing I'm missing, how about the settings files.
If I don't save my RAM back to a disk before a reboot, will I lose all my settings created after the RAM disk was created?

*edit*
figured it out, it gets saved in SWTOR_original
somehow this went wrong the first time i started the game with unleashed, no settings were put on the ramdisk the first time.

Will this benefit me and my laptop? I'm not all that computer savy at all. I have game-booster on and have everything selected when playing but I want to know if this will benefit me. The problem I have really is loading times from logging in and going planet to planet. But short of buying a new computer I want to know if I can do anything to help. FPS ain't to bad get a few lag spikes now and again but It is playable on low settings its just loading times I suffer from. Any help would be great thanks and Happy SWTOR'ing.

@skid
your laptop has a tricore processor and 4 GB of RAM if I am reading correctly. This lack of RAM will cause you issues both with running the game at speed and with using a RAM disk based accelerator like Unleashed.

This program takes a portion of 'excess' RAM and preloads files into it so they are accessed faster, with your system you won't have enough RAM to run TOR, windows and the RAMDISK.

Since your issue is limited to load times, I can recommend you check into two options. First check your hard disk speed and if your not running 7200RPM or greater drives then upgrading the drive speed will help load times. Second is to upgrade your RAM to the maximum allowed by your motherboard. If this is at least 8GB then you can use unleashed to preload some of the files to help your performance.

A new version of IMDisk (1.7.6) just came out. Anyone know if it works with SWTOR Unleashed?

No offense to Exca, but is there a better written set of instructions for properly using this program?
